I went with the B for the extra space you get to work with. Magnets wise I ordered some 1/4 x 1/16 when I should have went with 1/4 x 1/8. It was one of those oops I ordered the wrong thing type of things. I think they'll work anyways but if they're a bit weak I'll order the 1/4 x 1/8.

I just got my notification that both packages were processed locally so they'll be here in a few hours.

I received everything today except for my 510. The 510 is coming from Varitube and will be here tomorrow. I am very pleased with what I got, and to be honest most of what I chose came from the parts they throw up on the page that say's "people who bought this item also bought these". It made it easier anyway knowing that other modders were buying those parts. I was kinda surprised at the size of the 1590g box, almost a little bit worried it was too small. But seeing the battery sled and a couple battery's in it etc, it looks like it will be manageable.

So I managed to get her together last night. She's not 100% done , but she vapes.

Here's where I'm at right now.

I was originally going to have a mosfet for reverse battery protection and a master switch for a hard on/off but I decided to cut them when I was making it. Mostly just out of frustration and a want to have it be done with. Long story short it took me forever to solder the chip (embarrassing picture below lol) and the 510 took a while due to a small mistake I made that needed to be fixed.

Anyhow without the mosfet and master switch there's a bit of extra space for sure. Probably could have gone with the G instead if the B for the box.

I still need to mount the potentiometer as well as probably a voltage output meter when it shows up.

The one thing I certainly learned is that soldering tiny things is really hard and I'm terrible at it lol. It all works though.

I think it looks great. Dont be hard on yourself about soldering it takes practice. And after you get the heat shrink on you cant see any of that anyway. I like the color you chose to paint your box also. Update on mine the post office misdirected my 510, it went to Hawaii. I got a txt update 2 days ago that it left there heading to the mainland. I hope to get it on Monday so I can get started on mine. I do not want to drill any holes till I have all the parts.

Anyway :toast: great job

I forgot to ask how does she vape?

Thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty happy with it. The door is a tad lose but that's due to using countersunk screws for the box side, it just doesn't hold super tight. I just ordered some magnets for the box and I'll toss them in instead.

My only other regulated devices have been a Provari and a Lexi by Mamu with a Nivel chip. Both are 15 watts. This OKR is in a whole other league. It's just instant on and instant hot , I'm really enjoying it. I'm going to build another in October and use the 60 watt Raptor chip , it's the exact same build as the OKR.

I was really impressed with the battery life today. I vaped a .5 ish dual coil at around 4.5v all day at work and both batteries were at 3.9 when I got home.

As for the box , that's how it came. It's the 1590BRD. They come in a few colours.

I did not realize you could get colors other than black. I wish now that I would have ordered unfinished box, cause I think it would be cool to sand the box down and take the lean out of the top and bottom at least. The finish is so nice on this black one I got I dont want to mess it up lol.

I have the 10a raptor unit, the okr was unavailable. It is nice knowing its stable at 60w, but I think they are the same just different labels. Next month I may try to make another one with a digital display inside, or possibly set in a window cut in the box. I have all the parts for this one to install reverse batt protection, under voltage protection and a master on/off. Im probably just going to put the 5.6 diode in and call that good for now. Need to be careful how I put the batterys in, I think it should be ok though.

I have the 5.6v zenner in mine along with all the junk soldered to the chip.

Went with the otto p9 for a switch , super nice and very very clicky.

I think for my next box I'm going to get the standard unfinished G and then sand it down and do a coat of spray on truck bed liner on it.

Thats a good idea. I got the e-switch PV5S64011 Its somewhere between the P9 and the Hana bb buttons. It only will protrude into the case 0.472 which I think is 12mm but is for sure under a half inch. I went with that one because I was worried about space. I really wanted a black switch with a red LED. That will have to wait till next time.

I just looked at the P9 it may be the same size as mine

Loved seeing the build so far. I'm back from my trip, today I'm going to order everything for 3 mods. I don't think I'm going to do reverse bat protection considering I check my batteries 3 times before I put them into my mods (ocd). And I'm not going to do a voltage readout considering I vape to flavor. And seeing how much room was left in that 1599B it looks like I will be going with the 1590G. If there is anything I'm leaving out that you guys would recomend, please let me know!!

So I just got my 1590g in the mail. Wow , this is a lot smaller than the b. It will require much better planning putting it in. I think the lessons I learned in my first build will allow me to do this but this is a tight space. That being said I'm exited to make it happen because it's much much smaller and will be way better for out and about usage.

Ok here is where im at I will finish it tomorrow so far so good. well  let me explain......when you solder the resistors in the wrong place the board works just fine. the only problem is you only get 1 volt to the 510, 4 hours today spent with the volt meter until I got smart enough to to caculate the bands lol.

I got it soldered up the right way now, and I hooked everything up out of the box and it works great im pretty impressed by the power. rest of it should be easy, the battery sled fits between the posts at the bottom so there is plenty of room. the varitube 510 is awesome, the washer is super thin. I would post up more pics but im having trouble with my laptop running really slow.

Yeah just one, and you can run it without one but it is harder on your battery's and the board from the constant on/off we do while vaping. You have to have a resistor between pin 1 and 3 only if you will be using the remote switch (pin 1) the reason is the board will constantly fire if you do not have one in place. If you use pin 2 for your vin and fire switch, you must use a 10 amp fire button to handle the amperage and no resistor is needed. the resistor is needed on the pot no matter what.

There are alot of really smart people out there who figured this out for me ahead of time. I have 6 different diagrams for this board and there are more and they are all different,.

Pretty cool you can pick and choose what you want
