Backwoods Brew was not the first place I ordered e-juice from. I got some from vaporrenu (Carmello--really good, Swedish Fish--too much for me) and thevaporpro (Marbelo--EXCELLENT!!) but I never reviewed them.

I heard so many great things about BWB juices that frankly, I was expecting some kind of holy experience. Maybe that is the problem, I was expecting too much.

First of all, let me say that the customer service was excellent. Very quick. From the time I ordered to when I received it was like 4 days. Got timely emails in which I could track the shipping. Very nice.

Maxboro (30ml, 24mg): This juice really has no discernible taste. It tastes a little like tobacco but mostly it doesn't taste like anything. And the throat hit is too much. I'm going to have to dilute it with some VG and that is going to make the taste even weaker. Vapor production is good. My main problem, I think, is that I got this juice for my husband and he really does not like it. After all the reviews, I was promising him something really great and it just wasn't.

** (2/5)

Waffles and Syrup (10ml, 18mg): It tastes like buttery Maple syrup. Period. It tastes good, it just doesn't taste like waffles. Throat hit and vapor production is good.

*** (3/5)

I don't know if I'll order from BWB again. It's been a disappointment. I will probably go back to thevaporpro for my tobacco juice (Marbelo) since my husband and I loved that juice--why go searching for better when we were perfectly happy with what we had, right?

Don't touch it for 7-10 days and try it again. You need to let it sit and cure for a bit since it was probably just made. Give it a few shakes here and there...I did and you will notice a huge difference :)

The steep time with Backwoods brew is well documented. Don stays busy enough that he more or less mixes to order. You need to let it sit for a good 7 to 10 days as BigMike suggested. Another tip: let it sit overnight with the cap off. This will allow some oxygen into the mix, which will help age the juice a bit faster to bring out the flavors.

While I haven't had the Waffles from BWB, I am one of Don's biggest fans. His tobaccos are 2nd to none.

Another thing to keep in mind, if you have recently started vaping, you're probably not tasting what more seasoned vapers are. No offense hbrad, but with a Jan 2011 register date, I'm assuming you recently started vaping. If that is the case, your tastebuds have been abused from smoking and it takes a while for you to be able to fully enjoy the flavor of things. You'll find your vaping tastes change with time, as you become more accustomed to what a good juice should taste like, and as your taste buds re-awaken.

First, I have learned my lesson and will never order a 30ml bottle of something I haven't tried.

I have tried about 12 BWB flavors, eight of which are now everyday vapes for me...but the ones that I love aren't the ones that I thought I would like by reading descriptions and reviews. According to all the descriptions, I should love Casblanca - but I simply can't vape it, too spicy for me. Everyone's senses and tastebuds are different.

Most BWBs change dramatically during the first week or two - I would never review any right out of the mailbox, even if I loved them on the first try - because I know they will be different soon enough. Maxboro and Waffle aren't necessarily the ones I would have recommended, either - for an idea of the complexity and quality of BWB, I might have recommended starting with 10ml each of Applewood, 555, Cherry Tobacco, Maple Tobacco - these flavors are more unique to BWB....but stille xpect that maybe only one or two of them will be keepers for you....

Just to show how different the experience can be form one person to the next - when my Waffle arrived, it had no throat hit whatsoever and tasted like fake butter. After a few days, I got a nice mix of everything and the throat hit was quite potent...

As everyone else said let these juices sit and revisit them in about a week. I had ordered the waffles, malty, honey flu nut, when they arrived I didn't understand the raves but as suggested I let them sit about a week and all I can say is WOW.
Malty has become one of my favorites and my small bottle of waffles is long gone. I'm waiting on tomorrows mail for a big bottle of malty and going to try malty toffee. Luckily I have a box of other juices to play with while these mature.

I ordered Malty and it has no flavor. Don is going to send me another bottle. So I am hoping this is just a mistake and I will taste it. And this Malty I have has sat for a long while. Also I am a new member to ecf but I've been vaping going on a year now and have tried many juices. But like I said I really am hoping I will like it. I also don't like a over powering flavor but I do want to just say wow this really is good. I vaped a half of a bottle of this Malty in just a couple of hours just trying to find out what it taste like. So far unflavored liquid. Hopefully I will return and say yep I like this Malty.

I placed two (!) BWB orders last week and received the second one today. So far, I'm not impressed-----BUT-----I expected not to be given the widely reported steeping requirements. My Malty doesn't taste like anything either, and the Casablanca is a long way from the rich, complex tobacco I've heard so much about. Edit: and the 555 tastes like hair spray! However, I've scoped the scene, and I have THE FAITH that the people here who seem to have similar tastes to mine have not steered me wrong. I'll be back in a week or two.

It seems I have been hearing a lot about Malty even when its not on the OP review. For someone who may not know about Malty Don made it based on the Ecopure line of juice. It's not really supposed to have a flavor. It's supposed to be a clean crisp vape that focuses on performance. That's why it's a little thicker than the rest of his juices.

I don't have anything against newer members posting reviews I just think that when I look at a post count I'm not convinced that someone hasnt just went to the juice review titles, sees a lot of BWB reviews and is just blind buying because it looks popular. There def. indeed is a following for BWB juice but please keep in mind, if your a newb ordering, more often that not BWB needs to steep. If thats a dealbreaker for you, there are plenty of vendors out there who dont make there juices to order and would be more than happy to pull a bottle off a shelf somewhere and throw it in the mailbox for you. I like the fresh mixed juices and I feel it gives a personal touch to my order.

BTW.....if anyone doesnt want there Casablanca.....send it my way!!!!
