First esmoking purchase

I say buy a 801 not a 901. You'll appreciate the greater cartridge size and the bigger battery. I started out with a m401 which is a mini size and within a week bought a RN4062 ECigar.

If I had started with the 801 it's possible I could have standardized on that unit and spent less money. Chamber is almost as big and the battery life is decent.

On the other hand, I do love my E-cigar!!

I purchased 2 kits, 1 from one company, and 1 from another company. They both come with 2 batts, 1 atomizer, cartridges, and chargers. I was unsure of which company to go through, and I did some research, and I had some extra cash, so I went with 2. Both are basic kits.

I voted "Other" and I'll tell you why.

For a beginner just starting out I would highly recommend a 2-piece ecig. I've tried the M401 and some others and the whole atty/juice/refill thing is a PITA. Beginners need simple, easy, works, with no learning curve or problems, or they'll be turned off the whole thing. The 2-piece solves all those problems and makes it easy. Yes, it's a little more expensive that way, but no problem- they're still gonna save a bunch over what they were paying.

Sometimes I think we forget that getting off analogs is the whole point, right? The "saving money" thing is just a bonus(!), but even if it did cost the same, getting off analogs is priceless!

I didn't vote because there is no option for my biggest recommendation:

A manual switch! Regardless of model this is the best thing you can get just starting out. It takes the learning curve and cuts it in half.

If you were advising a newbie about what to get for their first esmoking purchase what would you suggest is the minimum for a decent starter experience?

Imagine this is for a moderate smoker who might want to try quitting. Money is not plentiful so it needs to be the bare minimum in case they don't like esmoking. However, it needs to be sufficient to keep them going for a week or so until they can order more stuff if they like it.

A kit here means 2x batteries, 1x atomiser, 1x charger and cord, 5x cartridges.

If the new member have tried and love a particular model then they should go for 2xkits and juices++, but for some one have never try should just get a basic kit and juice to try first before further spending.

From my short experience with a dse 901, so am a relative newbie, I think that a kit with another battery(making 3 batterries) and a second atomiser with enough carts for approx a fortnight is ideal for a newbie.
That way they should have enough battery power to last all day if they dont have access to charger point (at work or just out), a spare attie if one is DOA or burns out early and the carts because when you are trying to replace analogs, you just want to do it with the least messing about
This is, I think, an optimum way to try vaping. You've got back-ups of each with the least hassle so the newbie can give it a good try. Plus the initial expense would be approx equal to smoking albeit up front.
If they think it's for them, they can then go on to re-filling carts with juice, different flavours, different e-cigs or even modding, if they're that way inclined.
If not then they could sell on the kit on a forum or to some-one they may know who wants to try.

Other : 1 KR808D Kit, 2 extra batteries, 50 cartomizers + shipping comes to around £85~. That should be enough to last a starter 3 weeks, enough time to know if they want to continue with a buffer to allow time for more cartomizers to arrive from China. I'm looking at the situation in the UK here. 20 cigs are about £5.00gbp($8) for a decent brand so they're actually saving money despite the initial parts setup cost assuming they smoked 20 a day.

I just helped my best friend and his girlfriend put together their first order earlier this week. She wanted to share one kit for both of them, and it took some convincing, but finally she realized that would not work for both of them.

So I had them order 2 complete kits. Each kit has 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, a charger, and 5 carts.
In addition, I made sure they also got 1 extra battery each, and one extra atty each, for a total of 3 batteries, and 3 atomizers each. Also some extra carts, and some 10ml size bottles of juice.

I voted for Kit + Cartridges. It's not a bad deal if they like it. Personal opinion is that a new vape head really should look into a disposable. I am the manager for a company that sells both kits, and disposable cigarettes and cigars. And unless the person has already tried it and know they like it. I always try to get the customer into a disposable. they are much cheaper, and work just as well. (cost per cigarette is more with a disposable than a kit). But at $12-16 compared to $50-95 it's easier on the wallet for a newbie.

I have tried a few liquids, and have really liked the taste... but I do have some questions on content and how long it lasts. If someone really know about it could you please e-mail me? Thanks.

I am new ... I started with 2 kits ... different brands ... I have ordered and received juice just in the nic of time ... I found the carts that came with the kits a bit weak in taste and kick

Being a bit hesitant when I first tried this I got a basic 510 kit. I've been very happy with it but today I went out and bought a 901 kit. A couple batteries, extra atty's and carts.
I still have a half 15ml bottle of juice and just placed an order for another one today.

So you don't scare them away, I suggest keeping start up costs at a minimum. A kit is fine, but you need a second atomizer just in case. With a Joye510 your good to go. One thing to consider is despite recommendations they may not like the model they purchased. Once you know what you want, what you need, and what you like, then you can stock up.

There are a lot of users who bought very expensive models and carts thinking they would last a long time and be indestructible. I send people to China. You really can get started for $50. For a heavy smoker that's nothing. If you're spoking a pack and a half a day of premium cigarettes, you are spending a fortune. If you are smoking less than a pack and getting the cheapest analogs around you need to cut your start up costs.
