Okay. This seems to be the only board I can post in since I'm a newly registered.
(I'll properly introduce myself once I sort things out)
I recently ordered a few Vision 3.5mL ViVi Nova 2.5 tanks (at least that's what the site said they were).

Problem #1) I notice my tanks have some differences in how it looks on other websites selling the 2.5 versions.
Specifically the wicks on mine are short and the air hole(s) are in a different spot on my tank than
where I see them on other version 2.5 tanks (in videos and in pictures).

Problem #2) When screwing the tanks into my eGo Twists, I'm getting the feel that the threads are crossing.
My old Blu cartomizers screw into my Twists like a perfect match, but my tanks are the opposite.

How can I tell if my Vision ViVi Nova 3.5mL tanks are actually the 2.5 version? Thanks.

The main difference between the versions are these:
The V1 has the air hole in the knurled bottom cap. The V2 and V2.5 has the air hole in the connector, just above the threads.
The V2 comes with shorter wicks. The V2.5 USUALLY comes with longer wicks, but that can vary as the heads are interchangeable.
The V2.5 and the NEWER V2 have a new plastic tank that is more crack resistant.

Personally, I prefer the shorter wicks. The only real difference between the V2.5 and V2 is the wick length and the plastic in the tank, which are actually the same with newer V2 shipments. Some people claim that there is a difference in the coils, but I have both versions and I don't see any difference at all.

The main thing is that you didn't get a V1. Look at the location of the air hole. If it's in the battery connector, you're good.

There is really no such thing as a V2.5. That is just a name that Gotvapes gave to them when they finally got them in with the new plastic tanks. They didn't get any of the V2s. They just waited until the new tanks started shipping and, since they were the first to get them, they called it the V2.5. They also ordered them with longer wicks like the V1. Vision, the manufacturer, never called it a 2.5. The 2.5 didn't correct some defect in the V2, as the name implies. It's just a slightly different configuration that was specifically requested by Gotvapes, and since they're so big, Vision complies with their request.

Thank you for the VERY informative response. I just want to clarify that I'm not accusing my seller of any wrong doing or false advertising. I just started seeing differences in what I have and what is on the web. I'm sure I have the newest model based on your information. I'll just have to deal with the weird cross-threading feeling when screwing in the tank.

Thanks, sailorman.

Vision: We've made some major improvements in the V2 Vivi Nova's. They're shipping now, and in another month or so, they'll have our new crack resistant tanks.

Gotvapes: Send us 1,000. But don't ship them until you get the new tanks. And, send them with long wicks like the V1.

Vision: It'll be a month or so before the new tanks are made. Meanwhile, everyone else will be selling the V2.

Gotvapes: That's o.k.. Ship our order first, as soon as the new tanks arrive. And don't forget the long wicks. We'll call them the V2.5. We'll announce that we'll be the only place to get the "newest" version 2.5. Everyone else will still be selling their V2 stock when we get our shipment.

Vision: O.K. But I'm not sure we have enough long wicked heads in 2.4 ohms.

Gotvapes: Then send as many as you can and ship the rest with the new shorter wicks.

Vision: Whatever you want. You're one of our biggest customers.

That's about how it went. The whole V2.5 thing is 99% marketing on the part of Gotvapes.

Thanks, sailorman.

I know exactly what you mean regarding the threads.

They screw on very "loosely" and are rather sloppy. Once you get the Vivi Nova tightened down it seems to work just fine though.

That's great and all, but what's a "BB"? I have eGo VV Twists and the threading is questionable with the VVVN v2.5 tank.

To the other posters with the threading issue; I'm glad it's not just me. It was the main reason I question whether or not I had the real thing.

I have not had any cross or loose threading on mine, it screws onto the top of my BB perfectly, tho it is also the only thing I have had on it other than 2 carto's

That is kind of hilarious but I bet it worked.

Good idea.

OP- you are right about the poor precision in the threading of the 510 connector, it's not your imagination. It's a shame this persists in an otherwise very nice product.

This>>>>>>EDIT: It has made me nervous enough to use a short 510-510 extender to protect the threads in my PVs.

There seems to be some feeling that trimming the wicks can help with wicking. I thought I had some wicking issues at first, but in retrospect, it may have simply been that the heads were not quite clean enough from the factory, so they contributed to an off-flavor. Though I still don't really know for sure. I did trim and fluff the wicks on one of my heads, but after simply cleaning all of them, and settling on voltages that work best for my liquids, even the un-trimmed un-fluffed ones work perfectly for me now.

i just got a vivi V2.5 I love it, I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a video out that demonstrates how to clean the heads when coil gets gunky, I know all you have to do is simply replace the head, but it would be nice to get more life out of the little atty. I remember seeing a video at one time, but I cant for the life of me find it again. There are alot of reviews or how to rebuild the atty, which is cool, but unless I hallucinated it, there has to be some instructions on how to chean the heads.

I take my head off the nova, blot the wicks with a paper towel, put it back into the little rubber condom it came in, and fill that with vodka, let soak an hour or more, dump it out, blot the wicks again, and repeat, then I let the wicks dry out and dry burn a few times, adding a drop of vodka to the coil between dry burns and blowing off the coil. That seems to do the trick. I'd bet boiling in distilled water would work just as well, but I have a full bottle of cheap vodka that I'll never drink, so I'll keep using that till it's gone.

For cleaning the tank itself I just use a paper towel, though most of the time, I don't even bother, I just re-fill it. If it ever gets real gunky I guess I'd just rinse everything in warm water and let dry.

thanks alot for all the input. I really love this thing. I just switched the clear tank to the black tank I got for it. SO elegant. I also just modded it, I made the vents on the bottom near the contact threads a tad larger and sanded the rough threading down and now it fits better on my KGo. Its vaping like a steam engine.
