First Genesis....couple of questions....

I am about to buy my first Genesis atty and had some questions. I've used an AGA-T2 before, and loved the performance and, quite honestly, I love the idea of building and rebuilding (typical guy). I have really been looking hard at the new AC9, but saw a few reviews talking about the smok RSST being very similar in performance, obviously for a fraction of the cost.

The cost doesn't matter to me if the difference is great enough to substantiate it. Since buying and trying is obviously not an option, I was hoping to catch someone who has tried both and might know the differences aside from price....

I've had both and the difference is more on the materials used to build it and status i guess... they both function and do the same thing IMO, and it all really depends on your building skills. I got rid of the AC9 and now have the RSST because i couldnt justify the major cost difference between the 2 but to be fair, I've only had the RSST for about a little over a week so i don't know how long this thing will stay working fine.

How much of a Guy are you? Your answer will be directly related to your preference; must love fiddling.

For me, the genesis is ______ blank; a different game than the current mainstream can handles. I put the genny down for a while, but have started to pick it back up to fiddle.

That's basically the feedback I've seen in other reviews too. I would love to just get the AC9 if for nothing else to support US vendors, but the cost difference is really big and if there's not that much difference in performance, I just don't see how to justify it really....thanks for the feedback.

I am a strong advocate of cheap, quality devices. I think the RSST is a very good piece and just a good starting point. I prefer the AGA-T2 for a starter though.

Try the RSST then if later on down the line you feel that you want something nice, get an AC9. The clones are the way to go to get an idea of how the real deal will perform lol
