Hello all, so I bought my first mech mod. A nemesis clone and a trident clone. This thing is hitting great. I have a 1.4 ohm coil and using organic cotton. The ejuice I'm currently using is Radiator Pluid. I am in no way, shape or form upset with how this product is operating as I mentioned its hitting like a beast. My only issue is that I have to drip juice on this cotton every 3 hits or so.. Is this normal? Or am I not using enough cotton? I have just a little excess wick that I tucked under my coil

i would suggest watching a few you tube video's on cotton builds and see if there is something you could improve on. i usually get 4 or 5 hits and am running a .7 twisted wire coil that lights up pretty quick so i would assume you should get more mileage than i. posting a pic of your build will bring many helpful replies i am sure. good luck. <*}}}>{

Cotton wicks are so easy to change out in micro coils that it's no big deal if you happen to get a little over zealous or forgetful. I usually run duals at ~.4 to .5 ohms. I add 6 or 8 drops at a time. As you become more familiar with dripping, you'll get a feel for when it's time to drip. You'll learn it by burning a few wicks. But eventually, you'll get a feel. I never burn a wick; but I burned a lot of them when I started. It's worth it in the end. For me, the best vapes are at that point when the wick is right on the edge.

What rule said, use more cotton and try not to handle your cotton too much as it will compress and hold less juice.. I run dual micro at .7 with my flavor build and allot of cotton. If you stuff your rda full of cotton you will not regret it.. ive heard someone use the term 'less is more' when referring to cotton but I disagree with that person.. more is more.. less is dry.

what they all said! pics say more than words really, much easier to help someone when you can see what it actually looks like vs just reading about it. cotton holds quite a bit of juice... i was getting a good 6-8 rips off of my nimbus with dual coils and cotton around .4 ohms. post pics im sure most of us will be around all day... silly work :p

This is the coil and cotton wick. I used more cotton this time maybe a little too much but trial and error.

This is the vapor production. It's there as well as the flavor.

A few really good hits is better than lots of mediocre hits, that being said, Dragon style cotton wraps use more cotton, and therefor hold more juice before needing to drip again. Getting the right amount of cotton without being over restrictive is a little more difficult, but once you get it right, you should be getting 10 or 12 really good hits before it starts to dry hit. It took me about half a dozen tries to get it right the first time, but once you get the feel for it, it comes a lot easier from then on.

That's very true. It's coming together slowly but surely. Def liking the hard hits, vapor production and flavor.

I'm glad it's working for you. Most people will
agree, anything that keeps you off the analogs is the right setup. Chasing that "perfect vape" is half the fun.

With that size coil I would go through it with cotton. Have about 3/16" of cotton hanging out each side of coil touching deck. Juice up the wick then put as much as the deck can hold full of juice. The cotton will sbsorb what it needs off of the deck. If your coil is too close to the deck it could start burning juice. Make sure the bottom of coil is not swimming in juice. If it is just raise the coil a bit so its not. Its trial and error.

Yea, I've been using only cotton. I've also tried the putting the juice in the deck with a little more cotton. It's wicking much better. The coil is def off the deck or there would be a short I believe. I think I just have to find the right amount of cotton to use. Thank you for your help everyone.

Lots of good answers here. I always drip until there is juice pooled in the deck, about 10 drops, but using less cotton than you. I generally clip one end of the wick close to the coil and leave a longer tail on the other end that lays on the deck. As stated above by many others, you will get more hits than just dripping until the wick is saturated.

All your help has been amazing. Thank you all. I got this thing acting right now :D

not to change anything because experimenting is the best and eventually you will have it down but one set up I really like is a smaller diameter coil with cotton only under it and not thru it. my fav dripper set up is 26g wire wrapped around a 1/32 bit and like 10 wraps, I do this with dual coils and only place the cotton underneath both coils, talk about flavor and vapor? anyways maybe not now but just keep it in mind if you ever want to experiment. if you don't have that wire gauge and just want to try this basic concept you can use the 28g wire and wrap around something that you do have, but keep it as small as possible, then try the cotton bed underneath. also the coil shouldn't be pressed to far into the cotton, just touching kind of

I saw something about 28g wrapped around 28g dual coil that I wanted to try. Same concept with the cotton under the wick.

I've been using coils similar to this lately. 28g kanthal, 13 wraps around a large paperclip, usually ends up between .85 - .9 ohms with dual coils. With my air holes drilled out to 5/64" on an igo w4 I get great flavor and vapor with my 50/50 blends and my max VGs. Battery life is good, juice consumption is up a little from a traditional coil setup. Dialing in the height of the coil is crucial to throat hit and flavor. Play with it a bit before passing judgement. It took me a few tries to get it right.
