Will most certainly try this when I get home. I just picked up a bag of organic cotton balls. Do you boil your cotton?

Ahh ye old boil or not dicussion, when I can I boil no doubt! But I tried recently to not boil(based upon recent posts) Well I have to say(being long time cotton wicker) it makes the world of difference! Unboiled cotton takes forever initally for the cotton to wick(I think its a wax type coating) Boiled cotton instantly starts slurping up your juice. Also, the boiled/non boiled taste thing is true! Boiled cotton has NO funky taste off the rip. Can't say the same for unboiled. Is there a connection....idk. What I do know is I boil my cotton...

Just take notice of how I build off of two posts rather than three. That configuration allows myy top cap to be off center of the coils evenly enough to my throat hit liking. Hard for an unexperienced builder to understand, but person with build exp. to understand? With this build, I literally suprise myself with how little I have to drip. That is from the dam of cotton I made and height of coils.

Ok I will boil some and not boil to test the waters. That's one thing I've been wondering about my trident clone.. The airflow and exactly how high off my deck to have my coil. Also.. Do you shove some cotton under your coils?

Negative, that bunch under your coil is the first to dry out aka. The first to give you that better drip taste, knowing that you can see your wick is wet. Cotton beds or whatever you call it is a innefficient way of wicking period!

Just try everything you want to try, we can all tell you our preferences and our experiences but nothing will show you like your own experiences honestly. I use cvs sterile cotton and never boil, I don't get any funky taste and no break in period for my cotton but I make sure to saturate it before taking a rip. Also when I built the nimbus I do tuck under the coil but make sure to leave room between the coil and cotton so I don't get that burn or dryness in the cotton there. To each his own and well you will figure what you like with throat hit etc. Let the fun begin!

I also agree here. sterile works out of the box, no funkiness at all and wicks perfect. organic cotton, I would boil. as for the cotton bed, its the only way for nano coils, period!
