First Mechanical Mod

Hi all,

First time poster on this site and glad I found it. I've been vaping out of an Itazte MVP 2.0 for a couple of months and think it's time to upgrade to a mechanical mod. Was hoping to get some input on my choices.

I chose the Nemesis clone for my actual mod.
I have an IGO-W that I have been using on my MVP but have yet to actually rebuild it since the local vape shop built it for me the first time.
I ordered two Sony 18650 30A batteries.
An ohm meter.
28 guage kanthal wire.
Nitecore i2 charger.
And a multimeter.

Can't really think of anything else I need for my first build.
Please feel free to share your input or thoughts. :)

I think you have a pretty good cart arranged there. You may want to get some other gauge wires as well and try twisting different gauges together but that is not a must. Are the air holes in the IGO top cap drilled out at all or are they still stock? You will find with going lower ohms that it will produce a hotter vape and ample air is needed to cool down the vapor and create bigger clouds. If you don't have any, go to the dollar store and pick up a set of micro screwdrivers as they will prove quite helpful in wrapping coils. Pick up some organic cotton balls and you should be good to go. I am guessing you know about Ohm's Law and how to test for shorts and/or what to look for on your ohm meter to see if there is in fact a short at all. Best of luck into the dripping world and you may not go back to tanks! Also get some isopropyl alcohol and make sure you disassemble the Nemesis when you get it and put some of the isopropyl alcohol on a towel and wipe down all the insides of the tubes, the contacts, the threads, disassemble the switch and clean off all parts inside it as well to make sure you get any and all machining oils/lubricants off of your mod. I did it to mine and I was amazed at how much black gunk came off onto the towel.

If you find that you have a crunchy switch make sure you screw in the bottom negative contact all the way and test it to see if any of the crunchiness is still there. If it is then you can go to FatDaddyVapes.com - Home of the best vaping equipment, eliquids, and supplies!!! - Home or ebay and you can get some magnets to replace the screw inside the switch assembly and it should be smoother. You can also purchase the contact upgrade from Fat Daddy but I didn't see it absolutely necessary to do so. Also remember to take off the kick tube and the kick ring (see pictures) so that your battery will make contact with the two pins and have no battery rattle.

Thank you so much for the replies!
I will make sure to pick up some organic cotton once my kanthal comes in. I will also put micro screwdrivers on the list! The shop drilled a hole on one side of the Igo-W since they made a single coil but I am sure they can drill a hole on the other side once I start getting into building dual coils.
Thank you for the heads up on cleaning the Nemesis and I was reading a couple negative things about the springs so magnets seem to be a simple resolution for everyone. I'm also going to make sure I read up a little bit more about Ohms to feel more comfortable with the material because the last thing I want is some problem with my battery.
Do you guys recommend any other way besides videos on youtube on actually building and wrapping the coil/cotton?
