Ok. So we have decided to try to build our first mod. What I am wondering is what is the best mod out there....I realize that it is subjective to taste. However, what i am wondering is if it best to build a 3.7v so that you can get the best of both worlds if you use a LR atty (ie similar to 5v vaping) or just go for the 5v. I am chomping at the the bit over the evercool, but I can't understand half of what they are talking about so that is seriously out of my league at the moment. In the end I want a VV but I am just not ready to start there. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Storm,
there are a lot of good mods. No one has the best.
the Vari Volt mods are the most utilitarian mods that exist.
the reason being is you set the voltage.
Imo, if you had to have one, that would probably be the one to have.
Who makes the best VV mod? That's another question :)
LR attys in my opinion are not the same as true 5v vaping.
good lkuck finding what will be best for you.

Like the OP said, it's a matter of preference. Different people enjoy vaping at different voltages, which is what makes a VV so popular. I jsut want to add that the juice makes a difference as well. There are some juices I like better at 5 or 6 volts, and some juices I like better on a normal 3.7v. There are also high voltage juices out there. Again it just comes down to what you personally prefer. Unfortunately, I don't know much about mods, but I do enjoy my silver bullet, which I can change between 3.7v and 6v.

Good luck mate.

Well to be honest my standard 510 batt is just not enough. After an hour or two of vaping most of the flavors diminish. I have tried switching flavors and the same thing with most of them. I know that I am not getting all of the flavor that I can and I am trying to find a way to improve that. I have creme brulee and and a ry4/caramel mix that I am switching between and I am wondering if it just me or if I have a better setup if it will help me out.

I normally try longer drags because I am hoping if I heat the atty more it will bring out more flavor. I clean my atty every other day. At the moment we are using carts. I will be getting some clearomizers/fluxomizers/ whatever you want to call them soon as well as some regular cartos. I have also tried dripping with a dewicked atty.

Longer battery life, more flavor, and you would prefer to take shorter drags?
I wouldn't suggest an LR atomizer, but that's me.

Get yourself a 5 volt passthru and see how you like it.
That will get you a bit closer to figuring what you are really looking for.

You could also make yourself a 3.7 volt box mod that uses 14500 batteries.
That will give you a long lasting true 3.7 volts, unlike the 3.2 volts you are getting from your 510 batteries.

If it were me, I would try both, and then you will REALLY be close to figuring out what you want.
:)
