Hi well how do I start "I live in South Africa" now that's where the problem starts. Here you can't buy mods or even order the things you need to build them,so that's sort of a stone in the road to begin with.So I am very keen to experience a 5V vape but don't know how I am going to do it,because of the above mentioned reasons.

So I'm looking for a little help,I need like a guide to mod building, how to build a 5V unit guide.Something along those lines, but I must be able to buy all the parts locally.I can get 510 attys And connections and ego battys so I was hoping I would just be able to buy them and use there connecters to connect to the mod batt so I can use a 510 atty on it.

so can anyone help me PLEASE

Madvapes.com has a kit for a 5v mod (a US company) which supposedly includes all you need and instructions. But you still would need atomizers or cartomizers and eliquid and well as the industrial type batteries and a charger for them.

The Madvapemods forum had a lot of mod instructions but the forum got corrupted and they are trying to restore it.

The Modding section of ECF may have some instructions.

This is probably for a 3.7v box

That is strange to me that you can't get components there.. Interesting.

I would say your best bet is what tj99959 said. A simple passthrough would be a good way to go. He links one thread but there are several more in the modders section. Most passthroughs are pretty similar. If you want a good 5v PT you will need a 2amp rated wall wart or car cigarette usb wart.

you can find cheaper than this, but this shows what I am refering to.

The only e-cig-specific part of a mod box itself is the 510 connector. Everything else is like Radio Shack stuff - plain plastic battery box, led, wire, a pushbutton, solder, hot glue or other adhesive etc. But you need to be able to get the atomizers or cartomizers and eliquid.

Hope you can figure it out. I would agree to contact MadVapes. They ship all around the world, like to 30 different countries.

5 volt or variable volt vaping is definitely the way to go. Head and shoulders over 3.7 volt vaping.

Here is a very limited guide to building a 5 volt box mod with a couple of good pictures:

Here is a more detailed explanation as to how to build a 5 volt box mod:

Heres how to build a 5 volt box mod using a T1:

You forgot the "regulator". Can't do it without the regulator and I don't think Rad Shack carries those anymore.

You can take connectors out of old batts, I haven't personally done it yet.. I have several connectors on hand so haven't had the need just yet. There are a couple threads in the modders section telling how they have been removed in the past. I don't think an old atty would do you much good, you need the female.

I haven't heard of anyone doing this yet, but suppose it could be done. Connecting + & - straight to your atty(would need a very steady hand and not plug hole on pos post). It would be a pain to switch your atty if/when it stops working. If you have no other option it could probably get you by in a pinch. Still putting alot of faith into a single atty.
