Still looking for a ac adapter with the right volts and amps, but for now using 4 AA batteries.
This is my second attempt at using the quote, hopefully works better than the first? Wish there was an easier (less embarrassing newbie?) way to test.
Anyhow I just found a 4.5V 1600mA AC to DC power adapter at Radio Shack for $3.97. It's a radio shack brand and I didn't see it online, might have just been a local find. I was working on my very first mod and couldn't pass it up, though I really wanted a 5V 2A, but wow, over $30! (I'm certain I could have found one cheaper if I hunted around ... but was anxious to get going).
So far the 4.5V seems to be working really well. I've only been vaping for a little over 3 weeks - started with a Prodigy, (running at 5V), on an 801 atomizer and have been really happy with that too. But, started thinking when I'm at home it would be nice to save on the batts and be able to plug into the wall. Some searches on these excellent forums gave me some great ideas ...
At Radio Shack I bought:
The 4.5V 1600mA power supply $3.97
A SPST push in switch 2.69
and a 2-AA battery holder for 1.69
Then I used the charger adapter that came with my original 801. I spent a few hours trying the RCA connector but realized I needed to either pull one of the original batteries apart ... or ... found I could simply solder right onto the adapter, (the atomizer like end). So, a little soldering and some hole drilling and walla, my first mod, yay
I know, I know, nothing special but just felt like I had to tell someone who might understand, none of my friends are smokers! Oh, I do love PS a lot, my prodigy got me off analogs right off the bat with no looking back. And of course I will still count on it when I'm at work or out and about, but ... have to admit I am happy I held off on the PT, at least for the time being ...
