A fair number (including my ePipe) use a female RCA fitting at the other end, as a universal adapter, you can fit the battery fittings of a lot of eCigs onto female plugs from Radio Shack or Altex and switch atomizers with a simple pull and push (convenient when driving).

Generally when you're making a USB passthrough, you just chop the device end off of a USB cable and wire directly into the device, sometimes you'll use a mini-B USB receptacle in the device and then you can use any mini-B ended USB cable or wall wart.

I think people are trying to avoid telling you your baby is ugly. These days people are trying to polish the aesthetic appeal of their mods.

This is my first mod that "works"

Made out of PVC from hardware store: $1

3a momentary switch from Radio Shack: $3

got the atty connector from a dead usb passthrough

Still looking for a ac adapter with the right volts and amps, but for now using 4 AA batteries.

Not very pretty but super easy to make and CHEAP! Great tester unit too!

Doesn't matter what it looks like, if it works and it was cheap, you win...:D

You could buy a PS PT for $70.00 if you want pretty...:)

This is my second attempt at using the quote, hopefully works better than the first? Wish there was an easier (less embarrassing newbie?) way to test.

Anyhow I just found a 4.5V 1600mA AC to DC power adapter at Radio Shack for $3.97. It's a radio shack brand and I didn't see it online, might have just been a local find. I was working on my very first mod and couldn't pass it up, though I really wanted a 5V 2A, but wow, over $30! (I'm certain I could have found one cheaper if I hunted around ... but was anxious to get going).

So far the 4.5V seems to be working really well. I've only been vaping for a little over 3 weeks - started with a Prodigy, (running at 5V), on an 801 atomizer and have been really happy with that too. But, started thinking when I'm at home it would be nice to save on the batts and be able to plug into the wall. Some searches on these excellent forums gave me some great ideas ...
At Radio Shack I bought:
The 4.5V 1600mA power supply $3.97
A SPST push in switch 2.69
and a 2-AA battery holder for 1.69

Then I used the charger adapter that came with my original 801. I spent a few hours trying the RCA connector but realized I needed to either pull one of the original batteries apart ... or ... found I could simply solder right onto the adapter, (the atomizer like end). So, a little soldering and some hole drilling and walla, my first mod, yay :)

I know, I know, nothing special but just felt like I had to tell someone who might understand, none of my friends are smokers! Oh, I do love PS a lot, my prodigy got me off analogs right off the bat with no looking back. And of course I will still count on it when I'm at work or out and about, but ... have to admit I am happy I held off on the PT, at least for the time being ...

There is, at the bottom of the thread you're replying to is a 'go advanced' button click that and it will take you to an extended reply page, that will allow you to preview the post as it will look in the forum before committing it.

Thanks Googled, I see that now, or at least the preview post button.
