+1 for REO.
If you want the battery to last all day I recommend a Grand though.

This.

I have both the Mini and Grand. They're competing to be my daily-driver, and I think the Mini's winning right now. Carrying an extra battery for it is a non-issue, and the pocketability of it is pretty sweet. On the other hand, the Grand lets me play with different battery configurations to do 5v, 6v, and 7.4v vaping, if I want.

Mini or Grand? There is no wrong answer.. :)

I have a Reo grand I've had it for over a year its a sold built reliable mod but its unregulated voltage and I find myself changing the battery a lot I use the 4.8v batteries and they are only rated at 600mah and they drop horribly under load I hope the kick will work with the grand so I can love it again and I have my eye on the vv reo thread waiting impatiently.
I have 2 provari's I really like them, I use my black one without the ext cap with the 18490 battery it lasts me all day that might be because I'm rotating between 4 devices.
I have a lava tube I wouldn't say its junk but it doesn't regulate the voltage well the voltage drops as the battery drains and a vv mod isn't suppose to do that, I chalk it up to the fact that its a cheap mod using cheap parts.

There are two separate YouTube reviews of the Lavatube testing actual voltages, both under load and no-load, that show that the device's display does not reflect the actual voltage, and cuts voltage to different atty/carto combinations without warning the user. One is GrimmGreen, and the other I'd have to search for if anyone's interested.

That's not even mentioning the QC and reliability issues, and bad CS experiences, and Made in China vs. Made in USA for ProVari.

I was ready to pull the trigger, but for now...I'll steer clear.

+1 on this. If you have many drunken escapades, your greatest risk is losing it. That said? I'd recommend a Boge Revolution for drunken adventures. It includes a lanyard loop. If you use 2 ohm carto/attys on it, you will get a good vape. It holds 10 ml of juice, has 1400 mAh batts, and built-in passthrough. It has a compartment to carry a spare carto/atty if you break one during drunken escapades. You don't have to take it apart to charge it.

If you shop carefully, you can find them for $40. It's cheap, it's plastic, you can break it. It works well, and makes a good knock-a-bout device. I use one for outdoors work/mowing all the time. I am a musician, and lanyard makes it easy to grab a hit while playing. I have better devices, but I find a good niche for a Revolution. There are much tougher bottom feeders, but with an all-day batt, and $40, you won't cry too much if you lose it or smash it.

yeah I have a volt reader I picked up from mad vapes it has a 510 connection on it I bought it to test the lava tube so I see first hand what its doing, its not a bad device for the price I use it everyday a long side my provari's, there a feeler thread for a co-op going right now they're talking about $20 a lava tube that tells you right there that the parts aren't built for quality they're inexpensive parts they're not going to go the distant.

I have a Reo Grand in part because I live ON the RIO GRANDE. LOL! I really like it. It is large but it holds a big battery. I get 10 hours strong out the 18650 and I vape heavy. Just got another battery and 2 on the way and since I travel for work a lot, I figure they'll last me several days with a couple of bottles of juice. It works for me, and though I don't (can't) stick it in my pocket like my 2 eGo's, it fits my hand well and so I just carry it in an eGo case. Kind of like carrying your glasses in a case. But, like I said, I get 10 hours out of one charge and you can't beat that. Oh, and I use LR cartos and get plenty of vapor and TH. Just depends on the juice as to how much. Good luck on your search.

Just purchased a Provari.... thanks for the help. I already have a few ideas for my back up.

Congrats on your new PV. Glad you went through the trouble of researching them all and looking at all the recommendations, it will give you peace of mind in the long run. Great device I'm sure you will love it!
