Way to go. I ordered mine today and hope to accomplish the exact same as you. Hearing the success stories is always supportive and uplifting.
I tried the gum, patch, medication etc. Over the last seven or eight years I've tried to quit seriously at least twice per year. Every time I'd go back to smoking.
So far a few things have worked for me. The biggest is that I allow myself analogs at certain times. I know that I'll have 1-2 in the morning when getting ready for work. I know that I'll have one around noon (halfway through my day) and then another, probably, in the car on the way home. One of the times I used to smoke like a chimney was while driving, and having the PV makes that a lot easier. I can puff all I like without having to roll down the window or smoke a whole cigarette.
I'm also finishing up my last pack of analogs and will replace them with a pouch of Bugler or other roll-your-own tobacco. If I really want a smoke, I'll be able to but will have to roll it up. Makes impulse smoking more difficult while also knocking down my cost (loose RYO is far cheaper than a pack of smokes) and ensuring that I have a moment to think "do I really need this cigarette?" before lighting up.
It was heartening when I went for a cigarette on my drive to work this morning and I decided "I'll just vape instead". My last analog was around 8:00am (3 hours ago) and I feel fine. I may even try to make it to the end of the day without an analog.
All in all, this has been more successful than any other replacement therapy I've done for quitting.
