You've gotten a lot of great advice here. The only thing that I can really add is that you shouldn't feel discouraged if you break every now and then to have a cigarette. Some people are able to switch to vaping instantly, but others (like myself) need a more gradual transition. As long as you stick to a plan (I gave myself a deadline to transition) then you'll be successful. Glad you're liking your current setup. The next step is to find out what juices you like. It's very subjective, and everyone has their favorites.

Another thing is to get an extra battery. Most starter kits I've seen come with two. Two's good; I can vape all day on that. But I recently blew my first battery (go me!) and I'm having to hobble along on one until Smoketip sends my replacement. (Or until my extra I ordered from vapor4life comes in. I'm not picky.) That third one handy lets you keep on trucking while one's getting repaired.

+1 This!!! Same thing happened to me! I was stuck with one battery while waiting for the extra that I'd just happened to order a month after my starter kit. Still have to return the dead one to SmokeTip for replacement....procrastinator is my middle name though :p.

Success! Yesterday was my first full day with the PV, and I managed to cut my analogs down by half. I'm aiming for 1/4 today. I have a good feeling.

Great! Congratulations!

While some people seem to be able to switch overnight. I am doing what are you are doing. I went from 30-35 to 5 and now to 3. Going to zero immediately was more than my brain could handle. :)

Keep up the good work and continue to report back with your progress, it's great to hear!

p.s. It would also be nice to hear, and be helpful others, what seems to work and not work for you.

Way to go. I ordered mine today and hope to accomplish the exact same as you. Hearing the success stories is always supportive and uplifting.

I tried the gum, patch, medication etc. Over the last seven or eight years I've tried to quit seriously at least twice per year. Every time I'd go back to smoking.

So far a few things have worked for me. The biggest is that I allow myself analogs at certain times. I know that I'll have 1-2 in the morning when getting ready for work. I know that I'll have one around noon (halfway through my day) and then another, probably, in the car on the way home. One of the times I used to smoke like a chimney was while driving, and having the PV makes that a lot easier. I can puff all I like without having to roll down the window or smoke a whole cigarette.

I'm also finishing up my last pack of analogs and will replace them with a pouch of Bugler or other roll-your-own tobacco. If I really want a smoke, I'll be able to but will have to roll it up. Makes impulse smoking more difficult while also knocking down my cost (loose RYO is far cheaper than a pack of smokes) and ensuring that I have a moment to think "do I really need this cigarette?" before lighting up.

It was heartening when I went for a cigarette on my drive to work this morning and I decided "I'll just vape instead". My last analog was around 8:00am (3 hours ago) and I feel fine. I may even try to make it to the end of the day without an analog.

All in all, this has been more successful than any other replacement therapy I've done for quitting.

Way to go! You're doing great. Mornings were the hardest time to drop the analogs for me. I guess it because the nicotime level in your body is at it's lowest point due to not smoking while you sleep. Most people get up, grab some coffee and their cigarettes. I've found that using a strong tobacco based juice at 36mg in the mornings has helped me over this hurdle. If you struggle in the morning consider using a higher nicotine content juice to kick start your system. Worked for me.

My advice: Have an extra charger on hand. How are you going to charge your batteries if & when your charger dies?

Chargers have been known to go bad (short out) and bad chargers have been known to kill batteries. So if one of your batteries suddenly dies, Do Not use that charger until you can determine what or who killed your battery. It might be the charger or it might be an atomizer that did the damage.
