Hi there vap'n folks!
English guy through-and-through (heh... ) and been vaping since about mid August, and reading loads on this forum since - my intro to E-cigs was from one of the dreaded 'free trials' - hadn't heard much about these things, and then up pops an ad on what I thought was a trusted site and yup - it was for the 'E-cigs brand' - a 'legitimate scam', so to speak...
I just don't fall for these things at all, until this - musta caught me on a really bad day... Anyways I found out quick enough from a good google search what they were about and contacted my bank to stop any further outgoings before they happened - damned thing they sent me, well, seemed to have run outa power really quick but I tried to give it another charge from the USB adaptor - it got *HOT* - I grabbed it in a large plastic spring clamp and yanked it out, at which point it immediately went off like a rocket, shot out of the grasp of the now melted clamp, spewing forth orange sparks and clouds of near black smoke before scorching the PC table top... Close call indeed...
So long story short - not one to give up, even though the vapour tasted like 'arsemakings', I did some reasearch and went to the local TW shop, got me a Tornado T and some juice.
After the second one died, I got myself a SmokTech E-Power, and have been using that ever since.
Having not fond an OTC flavour I liked or was willing to keep paying for, I also quickly got into DIY mixing and am loving that - one £24 bottle of 54mg/ml (5.4%) nic. conc. has kept me going for weeks with hardly a dent in the contents - seems vaping has brought my nic. consumption *way* down - was going through 50 to 75g of Golden Vrginia hand rolling tobacco every 2 weeks prior to this, and although I haven't yet quit tobacco altogether, my consumption is now around 1/8th of that amount.
Being that I have some electrical/electronics and general workshop/impro background (I'm a natural problem solver with a bit of the Sherlock spirit within, and my brain and hands work well together, mostly.), I also converted the 'E-Cigs Brand' empty tube/threads into a USB device running at ~4.5V from the desktop PC, and the 2nd dead ego tube (with reg. circuit and switch intact) to run from a SMPSU for couch vaping at 3.2-3.3V. Did some reading and converted my large sized SmokTech carto Tank into an RBA and then also bought myself a 13 quid 'CHID' RBA and have been fiddling with those ever since, looking to now make myself my own design RBA - loving the high vapour volume, high flavour, low % nicotine vaping experience and most of my 'blends' probably now come in at only around 3mg/ml.
So for those experienced vapers that say the free trials only ever serve to put folk off getting further into vaping, well, THEY ARE WRONG! - Well at least about me, heheheheh...
Learned SO damned much from this forum so far after reading several hundreds of pages - I'm utterly loving it! Figured it was finally about time to start posting, seeing if I can't pay a little something back, eh ',;~}~
