I was at a conference today for work at a hotel. During break I went outside to vape and a couple others from the conference joined me.
One asked me with an astonished look on her face " what is that thing"? When I told her it was a ecig she told me she heard they were worse for you then an analog!!
The other told me she tried it before. She purchased a Blu  and she hated it.
I just vaped away and tried to stay away from their stinky butts LOL

I have to say I did feel a little wierd. I dont want anyone to think I am brazen enough to be smoking ganja or anything. Great conversation starter though. LOL

I feel the same way out in public i dont want anyone to think i am hitting a onehitter or anything. Now that i think about about a year ago i was driving and thought for sure the guy behind was puffing on one , but now i think it was a e-cig. I remember thinking damn that guy is bold just puffing away in broad daylight with out a care in the world.

Next time tell her 'if by worse for you you mean no more coughing, better lung function and smelling nice, then yes, ok..much worse' smile, give the cig a quick glance and vape on. I don't want to be down on smokers btw - I was one for years - but Im definitely down on negative people who want to put YOU down. You didn't stand there fake-coughing at her smoke did you, so why did she feel the need to disparage YOUR choice of nicotine therapy? She treated you the way ex smokers treat US (and probably her too), there's no excuse for it.
Keep some good suppliers cards on you (or ECf cards!) in case a smoker IS interested in decent stuff - they may not use it but at least you'll know you gave them good info.
Btw - anyone upwind of you would know instantly that you're not vaping anything 'suspect'. A good police officer can spot/smell the real thing a mile away, probably why no-one bothered VP :)

Yesterday i was @ a business meeting in the Sheraton downtown Orlando I went out to the deck to vap during breaks one guy asked about my e-cig I told him to check in here for info. He said a guy he worked with was using a bue but he was also smoking on the side. I said if he wanted to get a e-cig that would work to read here before he bought.

Funny story. I can't believe how bad analogs smell now. My first public vape went a little better. By the time I got back to my computer my first email was sending the Cignot web site link to 7 people. All 7 had tried my eGo and were impressed. 3 of the people I had never even met before. Now 4 of them vape eGo, 1 got a V3 and 2 are still doing analogs.

I wonder how willing and confident I would feel about e-cigs had I heard and read the recent news articles about how the FDA is trying to ban them and why. Companies putting erectile dysfuntion drugs and weight loss products in them, studies showing there are known carcinogens, etc... We all know that the FDA is throwing a bunch of bull out to make it look like they're the good guys coming in to save the public. But, if you are not researching e-cigs yourself...???

Most of the people I have vaped in public around know me and are glad to see that I've finally taken a step in the right direction. Fellow smokers almost always are curious about them and want to try it out.

There are the select few that are so protective of their addiction, they seem almost afraid of it. They actually avoid me at times. It doesn't stop me. I will sometimes vape even more when there is a long time smoker sitting there hacking up half a lung. I intentionally want to show them that there is an alternative to help them.

I notice that I tend to hide a bit when vaping away from my home. At this point, I don't really feel like explaining it to people and I don't want someone assuming that I'm trying to roll down their street smoking indo.

I'm the same way. Although then I start to think it looks like I'm hiding something which is more suspicious. I tend to just grip it in my palm and try to look inconspicuous and exhale like i would a normal cigarette.

A fellow co-worker (THANK YOU Billy!) introduced me to ecigs. He had one, and let me try it out. I was a little skeptical, but kept asking him and his wife how it was going. They both quit easily and only had good things to say. I came online and found this site, and researched and researched. I'm so grateful for Billy and this site. I smoked 33 years. I do have cravings and small panic attacks but I just vape them away! :):)

Now I'm on a mission to convert as many as possible! I love it! :D

This is my first official post but have been reading this forum on and off since the fall of 09. Anyways, I've recently got my eGo from Cignot and finally got to experience vaping and vaping in public. I live @ a university (dorms) and walk proud, puffing away. So far I haven't had anyone ask me what I'm puffing on but I do get quite a few looks.

As for vaping in buildings, I have vaped in bathrooms and in stairwells, normally not when other people are in sight. I don't want to give any wrong impressions.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
i always make sure i vape whenever i see a popo.....hoping they will pull me over, if they are good lookin' ha ha.....
most of the time, i get pulled over for stupid stuff, just cuz i drive a jacked up monster truck with a lift kit, mudder tires, and loud American Thunder Flowmaster pipes...and they are surprised to find a middle-aged professional woman ha ha. (i have never had a ticket in my 45 years...in my profession, we rarely, if ever, get tickets, thank God..cuz sometimes i dont pay attention and do go a little faster than i should, plus my speedometer is off cuz of my oversized mudder tires).
where i live, i dont see too many folks when i drive-my two hour roundtrip commute is through wide open cattle range...and the longhorns dont care lol. when i get on post, different stories, soldiers everywhere....i vape in my truck, dont care what anyone thinks, and hope a good lookin' MP pulls me over lol
