Ok.. purchased my first rba the Bulldog from OKCVapes and while I understand the issues surrounding using rba's on these types of devices, a coop for a clone ZMax is quickly coming so wanted to get one and get used to it.

Thing is the entire, supposedly 510 connector, fits entirely down into the eGo Twists connector. Literally I can fit the entire thing inside the eGo without much touching. My 510 LR atty's and Vivi Nova tanks fit so is this just odd, a wrong connector (not sure what it could be) or some other manufacturing issue?

The RBA looks great and ohms out at 2.5 with the stock silica wick & coil but wanted to see what she looks like on the twist and was shocked it didn't thread.

Is it me, the RBA or did I miss something on 510 connectors?

Cheers,
~Icky

No one? Some talk in another thread I started about this in General E-Cig that it's not meant to be used on a twist but I'm pretty sure (color me stupid if not) it's due to the ability to fry ego's easily using RBA's not the connector.

Anyway if anyone happens to have any suggestions let me know.. I'm just a bit baffled as to why this would be so much smaller.

Cheers,

Sorry but wrong.

I may be 100% off here but it's a 510 connector and the eGo has a 510 connector; as well a Provari, Bolt, ZMax, etc.

Their warning is due to issues with users shorting eGo batteries on a bad build of the RBA and not testing for shorts/etc frying their battery or at least the short circuit protection.

I have to disagree, for now, and believe this reading many threads here and warnings to not use RBA's on eGo's. Unless I'm completely off eGo or Provari, a volt/amp/watt is the same other than the battery source and the protection within the unit to save a battery against a short.

Not trying to be pissy but another thread people went into this direction and I don't believe it.

Thanks!

Take a look at this thread.

And if you still decide you want to risk it, go ahead and grab 510 extender, which should work just fine ;)

Thanks J4!

Yep I've read that one many times as well several others but I've also read a few where others have had success. I'll be getting a ZMax real soon if the CoOp I'm in goes live (hopefully soon) so I'll have the proper gear with protection then.

I may not risk it but just rolled my first mesh/coil wrap for a Vivi Nova and metered it out @ 2.4ohms which is what I was running on the factory/silica wick. Metered, tested, checked it over, metered again and again. Threw it on the eGo @ 3.2v and sizzled with a drop of juice. Checked and all coils glow, no hot spots and no shorts. Filled it and it's wonderful.. Truly wonderful! :D

I'm a believer..

Sorry but wrong.

I have an Ego C Twist and it is short protected - I use it when rebuilding my Genesis all the time and believe me I short it a lot! The old Egos are not protected. Did you contact the vendor for the reason that they have that disclaimer and why uours wont fit? If the it is a threading issue with the Bulldog and not the Egos, they should be obligated to replace it.

Get ahold of okc, I've had a couple if these "Phoenixes" some where just not made right in the connector.
And use it on a twist. Nothing wrong with that, just make sure there are no shorts and stay above 1.5 ohms

Ok.. I have a few messages into them, no reply as of yet..

It certainly does have protection but possibly not as good as say the Provari, etc.. I don't disagree there and have sent them some messages and we'll have to see. Thanks for the input and hope you didn't take me being combative or upset at you, I was not :) Just the situation and trying to figure out if it was something I had ordered wrong/etc but the more I check into it the more I believe it's just a defect.

Thanks all for the input! :)

Ictinike, let me know how this turns out. I just order a bulldog from OKC on Saturday. I plan on using the RBA on my gripper and vision spinner. I had the same impression as you and planned on using a multi meter prior to putting on the spinner which is a knock off twist. I don't understand why the threads won't work on the twist. I thought the disclaimer was due to possibly frying the circuts. Please let me know how this is handled.

Hey Tibby..

I was able to get ahold of Steph @ OKCV and we talked it through. She's in agreement this must be a defect and should fit a twist/et all 510 as well sending me out another one.

Being my first RBA I was kinda excited even knowing I had the risk of burning up an eGo Twist. I'm fairly good with a meter/electronics so I had no doubts I could get a good coil but as most say here it's not the time you meter it that's the problem but when you spring a coil leader, ground short, etc after the fact that's the biggest concern. Don't get me wrong, I'm vaping right now on the DID clone from OKCV on the Twist @ 4.2v and it's awesome but I won't be doing it too long and don't move around much. Once I get my ZMax however these babies are going to be used a bunch :)

I can't speak for the Spinner so def use at your own risk as others here will state and once I get the replacement in I'll report back. The DID clone tho is doing well on a 2.5ohm coil @ 4.2v and hitting hard and tons of vapor so I must be doing something well enough. I know I'll have shorts and hot spots and every other problem eventually but the only way to learn is to do, at least for me! :)

Cheers and I'll PM you or report back..
