So I picked up an AGA-T2. I have been rebuilding PT and Nova heads for a while now with great success. I have been on youtube many times looking at all the genny style rebuilds. My SS is oxidized, and I worked out the hotspots. I used 32g Kanthal and it came out to 2.1 ohms. My PT heads are 2 ohms and I am running 3.5 volts with big clouds. My mod is a Vamo V3. Anyway, the vapor seems weak on the AGA. I turned it up to 10 watts and it got better by a little bit..almost progressively. Do SS wicks need more power? Is the break in longer?? Thanks for the help.

Edit: 10 watts taste like crap and I do have the airhole lined up with wick.
Another edit: I am not set on using SS as a wick. I have metric ton of silica as thats what I use in everything else. I also have some ekowool. I like ~3.5 volts at 1.8-2 ohms because I get nice hits and my battery lasts longer. That being said should I just shoot for that with silica? I know I have a lot of questions and appreciate any advice.

Doable, but not easy to build genies with silica, but that said, I have to wonder why even bother with a genie then. SS mesh and wire rope wicks need lots of power to heat up quick enough to deliver a good vape. You're using a regulated mod and it is unlikely to ever be able to provide the current/power needed to drive SS wicks of any type. You may have better luck with a ceramic wick if you want to stay with a regulated mod. Otherwise, a mechanical mod (with proper battery!!!!!) and lower resistance coil (0.8 - 1.2 ohm) is where genies really shine for most people. If you do this, and plan to go below 1.2 ohm, DO YOUR HOMEWORK first!! Done right, mechs and genies are safe and very satisfying. Done wrong, they can be quite dangerous.
