Hey guys, just wanted to share my success with my first RBA wick... I got in a bulldog RBA from OKCVapes (pheonix style)... so, being the total RBA newb that I am... I popped it and its stock wick onto my VAMO, took an ohms reading, saw that all was gravy (2.8 ohms, higher than what I normally use, but hey, I don't have to make a wick!!!)....

Yeeeeeah, about that not having to make a wick.

First 30m... using a known good juice (Thug juice from MBV) had absolutely no flavor, heck, I think unflavored juice had more flavor than what that wick was putting out. So, I thought, well, could just need a break in time... vaped some more... keeping the wick/ coil itself wet the entire time. Flooded the poor little guy once. Kept at it.

Four hours later, which should have been PLENTY of time to break in the wick, I get the most acrid horrid burnt taste. Checked the wick.
Yup, still wet.
Dripped onto the coil.
Vaped.
More acrid horrid burnt taste.
Gave it a few to let it soak in.
Vaped.
More acrid horrid burnt taste. (At this point, I was noticing a trend)

Alright, enough fooling around. I bought an RBA to be able to build my own coils didn't I? Hell, if I can build a PC, I can make a coil.
First attempt....

1.8ohms. Right in my ballpark!!! (30g Kanthal)
WAAAAAY better wick too apparently (using 2.5mm silica for now)
Vapes like a champ.
Moral of the story, don't doubt yourself and if you do make a mess (cause I know I will!) learn from it, clean it up, and try again!
Now I'm gonna go vape myself stupid, and have a beer!:toast:
