Hello,
I recently ordered my first rda, igo-w, and have a few questions. I plan to use 30 gauge kanthal with organic cotton, since that's what I currently have been using with my protank 2 rebuilds. If I do a single coil do I need to fill the other side of the base with cotton or can I just use the one side? When I do dual coils do I have to have the same number of wraps for each coil? I will NOT being sub ohms and be looking for a 1.5-2.0 ohm build. How does this work on an iTaste MVP 2?
Thanks

Yup you can have cotton on only one side. I rarely build dual coils in my trident, I just prefer single coil vapes. Don't overstuff the cotton. Less is more if that makes sense. When you do dual coils the coils should be as close to copies of each other as you can make them. So, yes the same number of coils wrapped on the same thing (I use a mini screwdriver). I don't have an MVP or any variation so I can't speak to how that will work for you. Hope this helps and good luck.

single coil - no just run it with one wick and coil and you're good!

dual coil - yes - make them both the same because otherwise they run unequal power and one will not work well and the other will glow white hot! Balanced is better, and if you build them one on either side of the posts, you may need to drill a second airhole too.

Consider dual coils on the same wick in that case - i realise you will not use all the screws you possibly could - but oh well!

What I did with my Igo W was on a single build I drilled out one hole 1/16 and left the other one alone. 28 gauge kanthal micro coil buid with cotton. Then I moved to a dual coil with the same 28 gauge kanthal so i drilled out the second hole the same size 1/16. I got a .65 on my dual coil cotton build. Im fairly new to rebuildables but I have a great teacher. 4 months vaping 1 month building. Happy vaping!

Wouldn't it melt? I was thinking it
Would need something to handle high temperatures.
Doubt it. I've done it before. The hard part is it doesn't stick very well. The tape would be on the "cooler" side away from the coil. I've heard of people sticking things like toothpicks and breaking them off in holes as well. It was just a thought.
