So after doing a bit of research I have decided to dabble into wrapping my own coils, after of course I finish reading on everything I need to in order to do it safely. With that said, where should I start my rda search.

In all honesty I'd like to stick with authentic, I have nothing against clones, but I like to buy things once and not have to worry about them.

So lets hear it, what do you recommend?

I would suggest before you go out and spend big bucks on a fancy rda that you start small. Look up Igo rda's, they are inexpensive, solid, simple, reliable and authentic. There are a bunch of different igos to choose from depending on what type of build and airflow configuration you want. I have an Igo w4 and it works great for what I use it for (single coil on an istick) plus it was under $20.

what do you want? Clouds, flavor, lung hit , mouth to lung?
check out you tube reviewers
rip trippers Phil Brusardo Suck my mod grimm green to name a few

Sorry, you're right, I should have specified. I want some decent cloud production, but I'm not looking to cloud chase, Im mostly after flavor. It would be on a mech mod running a 18650 battery.

I use a 30mm magma and a 30mm veritas; both single coil 28gauge 1.3ohm.
With the magma I stuffed the unused airhole with foil; it's got a big drip well. easy build. and it's one of the few rda's around that has a screwon topcap instead of using rubber orings. feels like it could last forever - except possibly the way the positive goes up through the deck which is something I can't see because it's covered by the insulator.
The veritas is great for single coil; there's only 1 airhole anyway. pretty unique design.

Someone linked to an interesting rda called the achilles which is very interesting; single coil design; a bit like a magma but designed for single coil.

Ok, I am gonna throw a plug in for the Igo-L and also Fasttech a company from China. I ordered ithe Igo from them, cost $6.26. It comes with drip tip, extra O rings, two already wrapped coils with Silica, AND they had it prebuilt with a dual coil set up at 1.7 ohms, so I can use it on my MVP2 or Istick. Flavor is great and good vapor production.

That's interesting, my Magma has an airflow ring that you can turn for dual coils or single coils. When you only have one coil in there, you twist it a certain direction that only opens up airflow to one side of the atty - the other hole is underneath a solid part of the ring.

Still, I will say it's a great little atty. Simple to build on and gives terrific flavor and vapor.

Yep; I have the airhole blocked for the unused one, but you still end up with some leaking throught the hole to the ring area. By stuffing the hole on the inside with foil, I can lay my mod down horizonaltally with out leaking

I keep my mods standing up vertically 99% of the time. How's the leaking for the regular handling and not laying it down? My TOBH can get messy sometimes plus its not really single-coil friendly and I've been looking for something else, the magma seems to be my best bet thus far.

Cool, didn't think of for laying it down - good tip thanks.

I'm sure it won't leak if it were kept vertical; I vape on a wire though

Magma will be my next purchase, the deck looks awesome to build on, and it seems to be a travel friendly sized juice well.

Got a Magma coming sometime this week. Really looking forward to trying it out. My only current dripper is a Plume Veil by EHPro. I really started to enjoy it at night and on weekends after I got the juice nic and vg ratio where I wanted it.

Hobo v2.1 would be my suggestion. Easy to build with posi t-post. Can be run in single or dual configuration. Very deep juice well that doesn't leak. Adjustable airflow. Blows decent clouds and is great for flavor. Better than the Magma imo and I've owned both. Can be had for just under a $100.

My recommendations for a first rba/rda tank system is the flash-e-vapor V2 Easy to build, can be used as a dripper or a tanked system, provides an outstanding vape at any level one vape at. Remains to be one of me top performers/contenders of the collection.:D

If you want the best of the best, well then the Gus Estia 510 is the Queen of the Galaxy. Well, at least on this arm of the Milky Way:D

Wouldn't recommend the Estia as a first though, native tri-coiled, juice and air control, and kind of a meticulous build, but ohh, soo good. :D

the Russian/Kayfun, are still solid rba tank systems, and provide a damn fine vape, but, there are others in this neck of the wood now that put it down a notch or two:lol:

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!

Only used Tobhs for a long time... Jax got me hooked on the Hobo, and I am not sorry! That is one awesome little RDA!
Was just looking up the Estia that Dice was talking about... good lookin' tri-coil! I definitely see my vape budget getting an increase soon... need an authentic Hobo now, and an Estia... and prolly need to triple my juice budget....

Hmmmm... now pondering how to get this past the wife.......
