First re-wick results

I use an ego-c and had been using regular clearomizers after the silly plastic mouth pieces and atomizers leaked like crazy from the minute I bought the kit. After finding this awesome forum (you guys are seriously a huge blessing!) I got all daring and crazy on myself and bought an evod with two replacement heads.

I managed to get the dry burning down pat. Well, if you call getting it all the way to the part where the coil is clean... then forgetting to wash it so that your next tank tastes a little charred. You live and learn. *sigh*

Tonight I attempted to rewick the coil on one of those heads. I was excited because I got it to glow and put it all back together. The button flashed a few times before that so I figured it out on my own that it was shirting out. I put it together with the evod tank and something went wrong because no vapor came out.
I had taken apart the other head but I guess I had put it together all right because I'm using it and plenty of vape. Again, you live and learn. Time to get some more heads before this one gunks up.

I think I'll invest in some wire and other tools for rewiring. This is a puzzle I like.

Good for you! Getting into re-wicking is a huge step...some people are never even interesting in taking it that far.

Now, you're getting primed for other gadgets too...RDA's, RBA's, etc.

If you can rewick one you can fix the short. Remove the stem so you can see the wick and coil assembly. I'll bet you have pulled the coil over to one side. If you use a sewing needle or very small screwdriver, even a toothpick and pry the coil away from the side. That should fix it. To test it screw the base with the coil screwed into it but no tank onto your battery and hit the fire button. If you replace the wick prime it with a little juice before you do this.

Most likely a short. When I re- wicked my Evod for the first time I disrupted the stock coil while pulling out the fouled wick. It wouldn't work at all. Took it apart and saw that the coil was touching the side of the post. I used a small screwdriver to push it back to center. Reinstalled and worked like a champ. As far as re-coiling, go for it! Lots of fun. Ive made Nano/micro coils for all my kanger heads. Lots of fun.
