First Rebuildable

So I decided to get a techy and start using rebuildables. I bought an RSST and used 28 awg kanthal with #500 mesh (only) at 0.9 ohms. It's sitting on top of an iTaste VTR at 15 watts. For me, used to using an Aspire BDC, the vapor production is monumental and the flavor is much stronger than before. Bad thing is now I want to get a mech mod (smoktek Magneto) so I can play around some more.

I'll check out that Nemesis, thanks. I know I need different batteries and just to stay safe I've rewrapped the coil to 1.5. Currently using Samsung ICR18650-24F. Going to get some IMR batts this weekend, just haven't picked some to try yet.

Thanks for all the replies.

The two batteries you should look at are Orbtronic SX30 and Sony VCT5.

Both are 30amp high drain hybrid batteries. The Orbtronic is 2100 mAh and the Sony is 2600 mAh.

Dude I use the same supplies for my RSST! Very nice. The 500 mesh does very well for wicking. Try doing a microcoil on the ss mesh, that's how I have mine set up. I do about 11 wraps of 28 gauge and it winds up being 2.4-2.5 ohms. Takes a bit to spool up and produce the vapor, but once it warms up its so nice. I also do my wicks hollow and leave the fill cap in, works super good.

Did you drill your top cap? If not, 1/16" is a nice vape, but if you like an open draw, drilling it to 5/64" will produce enough vapor to shame some (not all) dripping RDA builds. Look into the Pyrex RSST too, the build quality is far nicer than the regular RSST.

No advice about mech's. I don't have one

Although it defies the laws of gravity, physics, nuclear fission, whatever, my hollow builds on my RSST always vape 100% better with that fill cap in. Couldn't explain it even if I wanted to. Something to do with vacuum effects I suppose.

3/32 is a substantial air hole, I'm pretty dang happy with my 5/64, I feel like with my builds anyway, flavor would diminish a little bit because of the air/vapor ratio. IMO its definitely more flavorful at 1/16" but the vape/flavor ratio is just right at 5/64 for me anyway. Glad your enjoying it
