What did you make? I started recently. Made some juice Friday, letting it steep awhile. Made blackberry, blueberry, mixture of blackberry & blueberry, and some banana. The banana is not that good, will probably add some strawberry to it. Starting with some simple single flavors. The rest are fine, so far.
Will have to play with the percentages, but that's part of the fun!

Good luck and enjoy

Depends.

If you just slightly overflavored, then after steeping it will taste perfumey or chemically, but since you tasted it before hand, you'd know if that was the case. Without tasting it before hand, it just tastes chemically and it could be the PG, VG, nicotine, flavoring, or flavoring level and you'll have to go through a process of elimination to find the culprit...more time fiddling and less time vaping DIY goodness...

Steeping is a "maybe". Maybe it will help. Maybe it will hurt. Most likely it will do nothing.

Click that 3 below my picture just to the right of "Blog Entries:" and then click on the blog on Flavoring Levels. See the comments in ()'s under #7.

We didn't taste it at all... Would that be a mistake?

There is that, my question is could steeping hurt?

Say you mix a Batch and let it sit for 2 Days of so. Then you taste it and it tastes _________. Then you take it and Milk Froth It. Shake it in a Rock Tumbler. Then Crock Pot it followed by a Quick Ultra Sound.

Then you Sample it Again, and it Tastes EXACTLY the Same. No Dif-er-Ronse. What you would Know is you Don't need to Jump Thru all the Hoops that you did.

One Key to DIY is Establishing a "Base Line". And then you Compare All the Changes to your Recipe or Changes/Different Steeping Techniques to that.

I personally find that fruit flavors rarely need steeping. You may want to try mixing at different percentages, too. I've never used FW, so I can't attest from experience with them, but I usually end up preferring percentages differently than what is suggested. Hoosier's blog is a great way to figure out at what percentage you prefer the flavors. Start small.

So we stopped the steep at one hour, cap off and half filled our kpt2. My mcherry is a bit weak but the taste that is there is really good. My wifes juicy fruit is almost weak to tell....
Problem is we don't have that many tanks so we will have to finish these off before we try the other two flavors.. Should we now let the rest of the samples sit or steep in the CP for a few more hours to see what we get?

Are you steeping (done with cap ON) or airing your mix out (with cap off)? Airing it out can definitely cause a loss of flavor!

I'm not a big believer in heat steeping (cooking my juice). I make a flavor and try it. I'm not saying that some mixes don't get a little better with time, but for me it's usually shake and vape. Good luck! :toast:

Cheers,
Steve

Now you have Something to gauge them by.

So if you Aren't thrilled with the way they Taste, I would pop them Back into the Crock Pot and give them another hour or so.

Then see if they Get Better, Worse or Maybe, No Change.

BTW - What Temp do you have the CP set at? 150F? Are you using Glass Bottles?

We steeped at 125 degrees cap off for an hour. I guess we will vape these samples and start from scratch again next time with simple mix/shake and vape. Live and learn i guess :)

BTW - You have Tasted you Unflavored Base once you Diluted it to a Vapable mg, Right?
