First Success! Feeling Pretty Good

After my debacle with the LAN Natural Banana, I have to admit I was a little discouraged. I realized this week from tasting other juice that I prefer a 35/65 to 30/70 PG/VG ratio. I also discovered that out of the four 30ml batches I made, the only one I could even taste anything good on was a straight 15% TFA Berry Cereal. Spent the morning playing with small batches until I got a working mixture. 37/63 PG/VG, 3mg/ml, 15% TFA Berry Ceral, 5% Strawberry Ripe. Wonderfully light but sweet at 45W.

I also noticed this week that wattage plays a significant role in how juices taste to me. French Dude, for example is perfect for my palette at 50W whereas Blueballs from Lung Candy is too harsh at 50 and tastes wonderful at 40.

If you have any pre mix that you like try diluting it with unflavored that has the percents of nic, pg and vg you prefer. A 3 parts unflavored to 1 part flavored often works. The flavor seems muted but then you taste adjusts.

DIY is all experimentation. Keep at it your off to a good start. Glad to here you switched to smaller batches. 30ml is a bit to much when experimenting. I do 10ml batches. Make sure you keep careful notes on everything you do. Congratulation on your success.

10ml was perfect for me to work with. Gave me easier measurements to try out. Once I found a 10ml I liked, I made 20 more and added it. I will use this as an all day vape when it's finished and make better notes. I took notes on every iteration of the recipe so I had an idea of what I liked and didn't like.

Glad you worked something out that you like! It's wonderful, isn't it...to know you can make your own eliquids now? They'll be exactly made to your own tastes, too!

If you like Banana and Strawberry flavors...you may want to try my simple NannerBerry recipe below. Local friends have me make it for them and love it! A couple guys (Ben85 and I think it was Boost Addict) on another thread, were looking for an easy recipe awhile ago, that would yield a successful mix and also be ready to vape. They both tried this, and said it was great!

All are TFA:

Strawberry Ripe - 9%
Banana Cream (or DX version) - 6%
Cotton Candy - 2%

Adjust according to your own taste preferences, of course.

I'm glad you are finding a rhythm. I second what dannyv45 says about note-taking. I lost "keepers" and repeated "rejects" because I failed to take detailed notes in the past.
I wish you much success on your future efforts!
