I just got my first glass tank, I cleaned it up and filled it using the carto that came with it (2.5 ohm) and let it sit for about 45 minutes to make sure it's saturated. I'm using it on my eVic and I'm not having a lot of luck. When I use my clearos, I vape at between 10-11 watts, I turned it down to 7 and moved up to a 9 gradually. I'm getting hellacious dry hits, and now I can't the carto tank off, the tank just moves on the cart instead of gripping it and unscrewing it. I don't know if I should try another carto or what, but I certainly can't do much with it stuck on my PV. How can I fix this without damaging the tank?

First of all, did you pre-fill or "prime" the cartomizer before putting it into the tank? How much liquid did you put in the cart?

Which glass tank are you using?

You will need to put a very tight fitting drip tip into the cartomizer and use that to unscrew the carto from your battery device's top connector. Press downward on the drip tip while turning it counter-clockwise.

Yes, primed it, I don't know if this method has a name but it sucks literally. You put your carto in the tank, add some liquid, push the carto up so holes are submerged in liquid, take finger and plug the hole at the connector then you suck on your carto. After you stop sucking, take yor finger from the bottom and bubbles come out of the holes/slot, pulling your liquid into the carto. I found this method on youtube when I got a smoktech UDCT, it works well since with the flange on the cartos prevent using the condom fill.

I finally wiggled the tank up enough to where I could use pliars to un screw it. The tanks are generic fasttech tank, glass chamber, top, bottom, orings. When I swapped out the carto though I dripped a few drops of liquid during commercial breaks until it stopped absorbing it then I refilled the tank. So far so good now, hopefully it will stay that way.

Priming is everything.

I like the Grimm Green shake it like a thermometer method of priming the carto.

Take your time to get it right and you will be rewarded with flavor that no other tank type topper will deliver.

On my eVic with a 2 ohm carto (properly primed) I start round 7 watts or a little less and work my way up to 9 or 10 depending on the juice.

Good luck and check this out. It's from Baditude, the guy in the post 2 above mine http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-baditudes-cartomizer-tank-setup-guide.html

I had another issue last night, the tank partially slid off the carto. Luckily I caught it before it came off, saving my comforter a trip to the washer and losing only a ml or two of liquid. I started hunting for a solution and found a thread Baditude posted on. To paraphrase, the issue boiled down to oring and tank quality, a quality tank (his example from IBtanked) would beter grip the carto and slippage would not or at least would be less of an issue. As I said I just have generic fasttech tanks, because I'm still figuring what works best for me and exploring different things I'm trying to keep cost down until I find my niche before I really invest in anything.

Anyway, I'm using flanged cartos so the issue is the tank sliding up, not down. I brainstormed and tried a bunch of suff with no success. I then remembered Baditude's tip about a snug drip tip. I don't have any o rings for drip tips so it took some wrangling and patience but I got one of the little rubber gaskets from a dead mt3s head and slipped over the base of my drip tip. Now very snug and more secure, just sharing if anyone else has this problem and finds this post.
