First time DIY Yuck!

So i dont think i did anything wrong, but i am getting a very harsh th and burn.

This is what I did.

Got empty bottle.
Added 10mils of 60 mg/ml 100% VG Nic
Added 20mils of 100% PG

This should give me 30mils of 20mg/ml Nic @ a 66.7%PG/33.3%VG

Right?

Normally i vape 18 mg/ml @ 70pg/30vg
So i dont know why this is so harsh
I even added 10% Apple from TFA and it was even more harsh.

What they heck is going on?

Thats a very simple mixture, and everything should be fine. Did you mix it up enough? How much apple did you add? 3ml? With 10% apple, and if you mixed everything like you said, everything should be fine. You can't get much more basic than that with DIY.

Only things I can think of.

1. You some how messed up the measurements, or reversed the 10/20mls by mistake to make 40mg nic.
2. Didn't mix it up enough, and you got a 'strong' sample. i.e. you vapes mostly the 60mg vg nic.
3. Your 60mg VG isn't 60mg. Maybe the vendor mislabled it, and its really 100mg or something. Although rare, it happened to me 8 months ago.

Your numbers are correct. What ratio of pg/vg do you normally vape? What type of equipment are you using?
Make sure you get it mixed up properly to avoid pockets of VG nic base. Try vaping your PG by its self to see if it giving you the harshness.

Ok well i know i didnt get the number mixed up because i mixed all of it at once
It was a 60mil bottle of 60 mg/ml nic
So i put 10 mils in 6 different bottles, and 20 mils of pg in each of the six bottle

I am gonna mix some pg/vg right now and see how it vapes.

I took 4.5 mils of my mix and added 0.5 mils of apple, even more harsh then the flavorless nic

Your nic is in VG. Before I vaped it, I'd let it sit a few minutes in a cup of hot water. The VG is very thick, and I think it maybe hasn't mixed completely with the PG. I'm thinking you might be getting too much nic in one hit because it hasn't blended with the PG. I always "melt" my VG a little so that it blends into the mixture better. I just let it sit in a cup of really hot water for maybe 5-10 minutes, then shake it up well. I can always tell that it has helped it mix....the whole mixture will seem thinner, and there won't be a million little bubbles in the bottle. If I don't warm it, I have about a billion little bubbles through the whole mixture.

yes test the nic before you vape any more, better safe than sorry. test kits are cheap assurance

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? Was it just not mixed enough?
