First time DIY

Hi guy, so Iv order my pg vg and nic plus some flavours should be here next week some time.
I was thinking instead of wasting my nic I would make up my juices with just pg and vg and try them first then add the nic afterwards is this a good idea or bad. I know the nic will proably kill the flavour a little bit.

The base nic Iv order is 80 pg 20 vg 50mg

Good idea to mix up small batches of no nic juice to experiment with DIY without wasting nic so you can find flavors you like. Just remember that when you add your nic into the ratio, it will dilute the flavor. Find a juice calculator you like and get familiar with it. It makes figuring out the measurements much easier. My go to calculator is the ejuice me up one.

Another top tip is to let it mellow for a few hours (maybe even a day).

Because the nic base will alter the overall PG/VG ratio, I would test flavors with no nic, as Shinedown suggested.

Once you hit a flavor you like, calculate the PG/VG ratio of the non-nic mix, and then come up with a recipe with your nic base included.

I went the easy way, because most flavors are PG based, I went with a nic solution that is 100% VG... Makes it easier to calculate ratios, for me anyway... Using a mixed base complicates things, unless you intend the final ratio of all your DIY's to be 80/20 anyway, then it won't be too bad.

BTW, there is a subforum dedicated to DIY juice making, that would be the better spot for these types of questions. This thread will probably get moved there by the mods. Just for future reference, and less work for the mods

I would get one of the diy apps available for android & iphone. It will do all the math for you based on what you are using & what result you want.
