Ok, so I got my drip tip for my 510. I have been having huge issues with this 510 so thought I would try dripping......lol.......what a mess. I got juice all over everything, and will probably OD from all the nicotine on my mouth and hands. How do you guys do this without making a mess of things with juice everywhere?

I am about ready to throw both these 510's in the garbage.

Help!

First...you 510 is a manual right...

Second, as with everything there is a learning curve. Blow across your drip tip like a pop bottle...got that sound ?
When I first start, I put in 3-4 drops....gently blow across the drip tip to make sure liquid goes down to atty, if drops are blocking the sound will be different from before. Vape away !!!!! If you have trouble hitting the hole with juice, rest your hands on something for suppport...

You will get there....have patience.....

Couple of things, classwife covered the first. I'd add that some drip tips have larger openings than others, and those that do are much less problematic. These are pricey, but the best: Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

You weren't really clear about the nature of the mess you're making; if it's seepage out the atty/battery connector, you're flooding it, and you have to develop a feel for how much juice to drip at one time (also, some juice bottles dispense significantly larger drops than others). If 3 drops is overflowing, try 2. Keep Kleenex handy.

Afterthought: The Riva/eGo types with a cone are great for dripping, because the cones confine the overflows. Liberty Flights has Riva kits right now @ $29.99, less than a 510 kit.

I am only putting in 3 drops. I will try removing the drip tip and aim for the bridge on the addy. yes the mess was mostly coming out around the addy battery connection which I guess would mean I flooded it. I am sure I will get the hang of it.

I have had such problems with these 510's that dripping is my last resort before pitching them. I did order the Riva from Liberty Flights last evening so am just trying to make it by with the 510's until my Riva gets here.

Thanks again for the tips on how to drip.

Took the words right out of my mouth! Just get an ego/riva and you'll avoid the messy leakage problem.

Are you screwing the atty down enough??? lemme take a pic of how close the atty should be to ur battery connector...

Left: might feel tight, but really isn't
Right: perfect tightness

Also, sometimes with a thick VG liquid, I recommend popping of the drip tip, dripping on the atty, replacing the drip tip, and then vaping. Sometimes thicker liquids get stuck in a drip tip.

thats exactly how i do it and no problems......it ensures every drop gets vaped and its very clean.....i start with 3 drops then add 2 every time it runs low.........

I have read here that one should not screw the atty onto the battery more than just hand tight otherwise you could damage the battery. But yes It is as tight as i dare go in view of that. I did try removing the drip tip and dripping directly (as much as possible) onto the addy and that seems to be a little less messy.

To help prevent getting juice in you mouth, in addition to blowing over the tip you can try:

Tapping lightly, like packing a cig

Hold at a 35 degree angle for a few seconds then hold vertically to eliminate liquid blocks.

Make sure to give it some time after dripping for the liquid to get to the atty. Better to drip after a vape than just before a vape.

Since it sounds like you’re flooding, try to drip only when the flavor starts getting dryish. You might be dripping more out of habit than need.

Dripping seemed to be a lot easier for me after I increased voltage, a lot more forgiving when it came to extra juice. That’s not really helpful, but if you’re dripping at standard voltage/watts, the margin for error seems tighter and you may need to drip fewer drops, but a little more often.
