First Time Dripping

After a longgggg time of buying tons of cartomizers and just throwing them out when I was finished, I finally got into dripping, and it is AMAZING. I was worried it would be too much hassle but it really isnt. Just pop open the cartomizer, fill, and enjoy. I got my Juices from Ms Ts Bakery and I must say, her juices were crazy good. I purchased cheesecake, honey, and peanut butter caramel brownie and each flavor delivered on taste and vapor. So if your hesitant on dripping like I was, I would definitely recommend getting into it. And a quick shout out to Ms T for doing an amazing job on her flavors, more orders are coming for sure :).

Opening a cartomizer and refilling it is not dripping. That's just refilling a cartomizer. Dripping is the act of dripping two or three drops of liquid onto an atomizer and vaping. You'll get about 10-12 good hits off those 3 drops. Then you drip again. Use a drip tip on the atomizer for convenience.

Some people use drip tips on cartomizers. Personally I wouldn't recommend that. The once or twice I'd tried it I've ended up with liquid in the center hole clogging up the carto. Not fun.

Ditto on roxics's terminology correction.

Something you might be interested in is this relatively new device from Nhaler: Drip-O-Mizers

If you liked, you could call it a cartomizer/drip tip hybrid. It would at least save you the trouble of popping open your cartos to refill them.

Haven't tried it myself.

how many times a cartomizer can be refill ? my supplier recommend me to refill my carto 3 times only

Hard to say, much of it depends on the juice being used, VG and or dark liquids seem gum them up or give an off taste quicker. Just keep filling until you detect a performance drop or off taste. Some people try to clean them at that point and have good luck with that. I've never tried cleaning one nor care to with a carto.

Dripping heaven is putting 2 or 3 drops directly on to a de-bridged atty and vaping my head off! Nothing but clean, sweet taste and tons of vapor! Now that's dripping!

love dripping too esp on LR attys, have not done well with removing the bridge yet, I am waiting for my helping hands to try it again

OOOOoooohhhhhh... So you mean to tell me that when I tried dripping 3 drops onto the bridge of my ego atty and it 1) didn't produce really any vapor and 2) tasted like burnt asphault, I was doing it wrong? What is this about this debridging? Do I take the filler like stuff out of the atty too? I was trying dripping just to get a feel for the 6 flavours I baught and was not impressed at all. Can I rinse them out after and use a different flavour?

Uh, ...take the filler like stuff out of the atty(??)

Sounds like you're talking about a cartomizer (which has a filler), not an atomizer (which doesn't).

Regarding the vaporless asphalt thing, that sounds like you might have taken a brand spankin' new atty, plugged it in without cleaning out the primer, dripped 3 drops into it (instead of the 5 or 6 a new atty would need) and fired that sucker up.

If so, I'm not surprised it wasn't to your liking.

What I meant by filler stuff is just the "wicks" around the coil, I followed the advice of a few people on youtube and "debridged" it and took out the wick stuff. This IS an atomizer, and I was using a hollow cart as a drip tip. As for cleaning it out, I'm not sure if I did it right or not but I rinsed it out with hot water for a few mins and then blew it out as best as I could. Then I dry burned it to make sure there was no more water in there. Is this correct so far?

So I got my first e-cig on 11/4/2010 .... Simply because of frustration and hours browsing this forum, on 11/11/2010 I recieved my first drip tip and 10ml bottle of liquid. After about 5 minutes I realized the cartridges were a waste of time and money. In fact, the consistency was so frustrating I didn't even quit analogs until the first day I dripped. Now the analogs are toast and I am dripping all day everyday.

Now for the next step in my growth...

How much will "de-wicking" and/or "de-bridging" the atty actually help? More importantly what are the drawbacks?

P.S. I use a 510 passthrough mostly with a Volcano/Blu atty (L88b?)...

Any suggestions or tips for this rookie would be appreciated!

A cleaned or completely blown out atomizer needs around 5 or 6 drops or you will get that "dry atomizer" taste.
This is something people don't always mention when they talk about using 3 drops for dripping.

Yup. Actually, that was a lot more thorough a job than I do (I just soak them in isopropyl for 5 minutes & blow them out). The dry burn is a little risky--a blow drier would be less so--but evidently you got away with it. If the atty was clean and drenched with juice, I'm clueless as to why the vape tasted like #$%@.

Anybody got any other ideas?

Just out of curiosity, have you tried dripping with an unmolested atty?

I only have one other atty and I was scared to mess with it until I got confirmation of what I was doing right/wrong... I might try that one tomorow, so far nothing seems to touch my ce2's... Should I be dripping directly onto the atty or around the outside? Cause today when I tried it I kept getting a gurgling sound and that was the only time I really got any vapor at all...

The gurgling sound means your atty is mildly flooded--nothing to worry about (happens to drippers all the time, and they generally just vape through it). A seriously flooded atty will mean little to no vapor.

The place to drip is right down the middle, right onto the bridge--if there is one. That's exactly where a drip tip would funnel it to.
