greetings to all

I have been lurking for a couple of months and just joined yesterday and this is my first post.

I was a smoker for about 56 years, quit last spring and didn't do to well until I discovered ecigs, ordered a starter kit from prosmoke, liked them at first then had to order extra batteries because I was having to charge them a couple of times a day. I also got sick and tired of filling their small cartos.

About september I got a starter kit on ebay comprising of two ego 1100 batteries, two ce5's with the replaceable attys and a protank 2. I thought that was just wonderful, I could vape for more then a day without changing batteries or refilling the juice. then the ce5's started to taste gunky. thats when I found out that they had to be cleaned once in a while. I cleaned them and wasn't real happy with the results. I started using the protank and that worked better then the ce5's. I had a couple of replacement attys for it and they soon needed cleaning, they were cleaned and were good to go after that. Then I ordered some t3s's and have not had any problem with them, other then a little gurgling and flooding when they get down toward empty. I have been happy with the protank and t3s's and have a question.

I have been dry burning the coils to clean them and was reading one of the posts here that said you should not dry burn the kanger coils because you could burn the rubber insulator on the bottom. I don't think I have burned them but I really wouldn't want to either.

I also read that there is a silicon replacement for the rubber, anyone know where it is available?

thanks, curly

I used to do the rinse/dry burn/rinse/vape

and had a yuk burnt taste

when I added the vodka soak AFTER the dry burn it made everything better
sometimes when that's not enuff, I clean it as good as I can, then soak in white vinegar (5min)
then in the vodka (sometimes burnt or an old flavor is stubborn)

ps: don't forget you CAN NOT dry burn cotton
