Sounds good if it vapes for you :) I bounce between sterile cotton and sugar and cream yarn (from Hobby Lobby). It's made up of 4 strands. Depending on the drill bit I'm using, I remove 1 or 2 strands, no flavor wick. You simply don't want too much tension, a freely moving strand through the coil.

For a 1/16 drill bit, that I just started using, I'm using 2 strands. For a 5/64 I'm using 3 strands. No flavor wicks.

In my own experience it takes a bit for the flavor to come through. I'm using a Protank 2 most of the time and by halfway through the tank it's really good. The flavor kicks in before that amount of liquid but it definitely didn't right away.

I've had a love/hate relationship with cotton, but it's gotten better. I thought it'd never happen and I really wanted to get away from silica. Seeing all those little shreds fly around while I was building was kinda scary, since I'm inhaling that stuff.

Are you using stock coils to rewick, or building your own? If so, what are you building on?

Some I've rewicked the stock coils, and also building my own. 1.8 - 2.5ish ohms. I just switch back to cotton and now I have flavor.

Did you boil the yarn? I cut about a yard and boiled it for 20 minutes. I didn't think it'd make a difference but it really did. Either way, the flavor will come through. As I said, my love/hate relationship had to do with flavor and my impatience. I'm very stubborn.

But, yeah. If you get immediate flavor with regular cotton, I see your point. :)

I do like how easy the strands are, but really, wicking with cotton isn't difficult either. If cotton is working for you, no worries! I'm gonna have to learn to knit a lot of white scarves otherwise. I've been playing around with bamboo, also, but so far, cotton wins. I need to read more about bamboo, though. I wouldn't want to knit with it, it's too dainty! Perfect size for flavor wicks.
