First Timer - Help Needed

What's up guys?

So i'm fairly new to vaping and although I know DIY E-juice isn't advicable for new comers I am very confident that I will be able to do it properly as well safely.

So far by the reading I have done I have decided to purchase from wizardlabs, this is what I have in my cart so far and what I know I do need.

-1 Gallon VG
-1 Gallon PG
-500ml 48mg Nicotine juice (100% VG) ... I vape 24mg juice and I am confident I could handle mixing 100mg Nicotine I am going to start off on the safe end.
- Flavorings

Now where I need help is if someone could point in the right direction of what syringes and all that type of stuff I need and if possible the cheapest site to get it from , if you could give me a complete list and where to get it from that would be more then appreciated. Also so you know , i'm one of those people that would like to order everything I need at one time instead of needing to re-up on supplies all the time.

Thank you in advace for all the help!

Wizard is good for flavors and nic. but those prices on the vg and pg are crazy. You can get a gallon of pg and vg together from essential depot for $59 and free shipping. As for syringes, you can find really good deals on them from either amazon or ebay,i have seen boxes of 100 on ebay for $12.I would get some 1ml,,5ml,and 10ml syringes and some 14 and 18 gauge blunt tip needles.

Gallon of vg for less than 30 shipped at bulk apothecary. But If you want my advice, go to walmart n pick up your VG (Humco brand in the bandaid isle) for 4 bucks. And start with that. its cheap enough that if you decide you dont really like to DIY that you wont suffer the loss. You will get at least 1 free syringe with your flavors from wizard. Im just saying dont spend an arm and a leg only to realize you dont enjoy it etc. Your going to end up mixing a lot of stuff that is going to taste just awful and you will probably end up pouring it down the drain.

Yeah, Bulkapothecary is good. And, not to be underhanded (I accidentally found this out), if you leave items in your cart for a few days they'll give you 5% off that price. I love when that happens! Bulkapothecary and Essential Depot rival each other in prices, but I think Bulkapothecary is better -- don't ask why, it's just an opinion founded on goofy stuff.

I'd also recommend getting a 14 gauge needle for ease of usage with VG and a couple syringes (one with at least the same, if not more, volume that you will be measuring out per bottle, e.g., 10 mL bottle and 10-20 mL syringe).

And for empty bottles (particularly bulk), check ebay, but I won't pay more than ~.22 per LDPE bottle and ~.25 per PET bottle for 10 mL and under from the States (from China the prices will be lower). Start out with several smaller bottles for your initial tests -- 5 mL/10 mL. I don't do 3 mL because the quantity is so small that even a single drop of flavoring can be too much and it's quite difficult (if measuring by volume) to measure out less than a drop. You don't need to go bulk too soon, but don't pay too much for simple items -- be careful buying from ecig sites as they can mark up quite high on items like pipettes, bottles, syringes, etc., but if you are just buying a few from them, it's no biggie I guess.

I buy bottles of all sizes, shapes, materials and colors.

I would suggest you head over to OSDIY and get some of the bottles linked below if you want larger ones. What I do is make 10ml testers for new juice. Stuff I like is made in bulk 60-120ml on average but a few things in 500ml or greater. For the big batches I use sauce jars since you can't beat the price of free with a good spaghetti dinner. They have smaller bottles too and the ones with green caps are identical to what WL sells with white caps. Sometimes I buy bulk bottles on Ebay to save money for stuff I give to others. But if I just need 20 or so I toss a few in with my flavor orders.

So far these have become my favorite bottles which I carry a 60ml in my pocket always. When friends or people I meet want some of what I'm having I can even fill up their tank. And these are especially great imho for dripping as I don't need to remove the cap while driving. I used to make my larger 120ml batches in glass but the caps can be a pita and the cheap ones sometimes crack. With these twist tops I avoid all the hassle of caps and having to carefully pour into smaller bottles. It's like having an integrated funnel built right into the bottle and if they get dropped they wont break.

to ecf NickT1596. So glad you are here. Lots of great DIY information here. I happen to get all my syringes from my pharmacists. I think I plain like $.23 cents last time. Good luck to you and happy mixing.

Fantastic sale if you need any more nic to freeze........ https://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/nicotine-base-flavorings/nicotine-solutions/unflavored-nicotine-smoke-juice-e-liquid-9399.html

Thank you everyone once again!

So i'm still having a bit of confusion ... Can someone suggest the ammount of VG, PG , and Nic I should be buying to start? Also what kind of syringes and all the other stuff I will need and how much of each? (Basic terms would help since i'm still a Newcomer when it comes to DIY)

Also on a different note , I'm looking for a DIY recipe that taste as close to a Marlboro red as possible, I have a B&M by me that has a flavor called "Red Box" that taste just like a marlboro red but they charge $19 for a 30 mL which seems awfully high. I'm also not opposed to buying a pre-made juice that taste like a marlboro red if you know any sites that sell a flavor like that.

Maybe just start with around 250ml of pg and vg and 120ml of nic 48 or 60 i would say. Get a couple of blunt tip needles, Dont bother buying too many bottles, just use the empty ones that you already have. :) Add your flavor concentrates that you want to try and mix with, I suggest you look up some recipes and get your ideas there. That is essentially all you really need to start mixing your own DIY and see if you enjoy it or not. Use a calculator like this one to help you with your percentages. eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator

That sounds easy enough so far haha , I think i'm going to go with 60mg Nicotine juice ... Do you suggest getting the Nicotine solution is 100% VG? Also what size blunt tip needles exactly? Do you have a website you suggest purchasing them from?

Thank you man really appreciate it!
I get my nic as 100 VG, but i DIY all of my juice at max VG so it makes sense to do that. 14ga 16ga 18ga, They are cheap enough to grab a few diff sizes. The larger ones you are going to want for your VG and Nic if it is in VG cuz this stuff is really thick. I purchase my Nic at wizardlabs, I get my VG from bulkapothecary, 1gallon for about 27 bucks shipped. I never order PG as almost all the flavors have PG and I am mixing max VG I dont order pgthey also carry blunt tip needles and syringes all of which if you add one of each up is still only like 5 bucks.,

This is 100mg nic but it is a fantastic price. https://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/nicotine-base-flavorings/nicotine-solutions/unflavored-nicotine-smoke-juice-e-liquid-9399.html

I use the super concentrated and gourmet flavorings from Vaping Zone because you use so much less of them in a recipe because the are concentrated. Seems a bit more economical. They have several different tobacco flavorings. One review even said it tasted like a Marlboro. Check them out. I have been very pleased with the six flavors I have bought from them.

As far as pg and vg, if this is something you think you will continue to mix for yourself due to the savings, I'd suggest diving in and getting a gallon of each from Essential Depot. I will tell you the initial cost is around $60 but if you add up what you spend on buying smaller quanities, you are saving so much money. Just depends on you. I knew I was going to continue to save as much as I could.

Good luck to ya.

Not to add too much information to this, read the following blogs to gain some insight:

Here is a great blog for equipment:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ew-diy-simple-guide-links-what-where-buy.html

My greatest hurdle was NOT testing flavors from 1% and then working up. I can't stress that enough. I have some Luden's tasting Cherry juice that I still have to figure out what to do with!

Take your time, have fun with it and ask a LOT of questions.

Good luck!

Edit: Here is a link to a great juice calculator too. You'll be needing it...

.. ... Do you suggest getting the Nicotine solution is 100% VG? ..........

It depends on the final mix ratio of pg to vg that you want. Most flavors are non vg base, so if your nic is in a pg base it becomes impossible to make a high vg percent juice.

Example: mixing 10 ml from 48mg, pg base, means you'd need 5 ml of nic base for 24mg. Now with, say, 15% of flavors, you're at 65% and the most vg you can add is 35%.

If your nic is vg, then you can get to 50/50, but you can't get to higher than 50 on the pg side. If you like high vg percents then it's not a problem.

If you get a higher mg of nic, it helps to go either way on the percents regardless of the nic base.

You can go with M-Type from The Flavor Apprentice which is similar to Marlboro after a 3-4 week steep. Also Flavor Art makes one called Maxx Blend which is a bit different. But that store is likely using Hangsen Red USA Mix which I believe used to be called Red Box. I know the Gold and Silver used to be Gold Box for Benson and Hedges and others had box in the name which have been removed. Many flavors have had to be renamed due to trademark issues and yet some shops have yet to rename as it's more appealing to sell Red Box rather then Red Mix.
