Evening,

had my first trip to the vape shop today and came out with a itaste vv 3.0 as recommended by the shop owner.

i only came back with one top piece though and am sort of regretting not getting another, it says aspire bdc on it.. I can just order one off line I guess as the shop is a fair way.

i got 3 lots of liquid (cherry, apple and cola) in 12mg which again took the shops advise on this.. Loving it so far however bit confused about all of the settings though Volts/Watts how do you know what to set these at?

thanks.

Welcome, and good choice! The setting depends on your coil and mostly your preference. Your itaste will tell you the ohms of your coil if you press both buttons at the bottom at the same time. I use a 2.2 ohm coil between 3.7 and 4.5 depending on the juice and my mood.

Excellent.

I can now send you VIP invites to Birmingham Vape meets.

If I was starting out again with a standard resistance atomiser/clearomiser, but with a VW battery (we never had those), I'd stick it on 6.5 watts and see how it goes.
These days, I'd start on 7.5...as I know most things are going to work OK without too much risk of nasty-ness. :)

Glad to hear the news. Be Happy!! Vape on. :)

I think the shop gave you good advice. Welcome to ECF and to Vaping.

I like the Itaste quite a bit.....despite the learning curve on setting the voltage/wattage. It is great that it came with an Aspire. I have enjoyed these very much.

Personally, I find it easier to set to watts and then just move it up or down to your liking. I often use 6 or 7 watts. Many like it higher.

And, of course, you should pick up a couple more Aspires with ego threading. Not only is it good to have a spare for back up, it is nice to be able to have "toppers" filled with the different flavors so you can easily switch flavors during the day.

I happen to like Discount Vapors (US). There are several on-line vendors that sell the Aspire BDC line. I suggest you pick up a 5 pack of coil heads as you will need them too. It is easy to replace this part & cheaper than buying more complete "toppers".

Welcome to the forums :)

What you use, VV or VW, and what you set them at are very personal. You only need to choose one setting, either VV or VW. The Volts or Watts will be automatically adjusted by setting the other. As for where to set them, lol, you will get 1000 different answers on this. The best method I have found is to start low, vape a bit, then raise the voltage or wattage up until you find the setting you like for the juice. Once you have done this for a while, you will get a better idea of what settings you prefer for each juice and where to start at for new flavors.

Also, if you are like me, you will fiddle with the settings constantly throughout the day. I tend to prefer higher settings in the morning, after meals, and during the evening, but at mid day, I find I like to tone it down a bit.

These settings will be personal to you, and once you find what you like, just remember those settings and vape away :)

I prefer using the VW on mine instead of the VV. I like mine set to either 7 watts or 7.5 watts best. I was told if using VV, not to go above 3.7 volts or you could burn your wicks and have found that if I am using VV mode, it does taste a bit burned above 3.7 volts. You need to know that when you set the VV or VW, it doesn't matter what the other setting is because it only does VV or VW. With VW setting it automatically puts the voltage at the right level based on your coil head ohm setting. I personally like the iTaste 30 and the ProTank 2 on top of mine but they are big and make it not well balanced. My wife prefers the iClear 16's on top of hers as it fits perfectly and handles very nicely. Congrats on your purchase! You did good!!!!

Great setup!!!

Make sure to use all 3 of those flavors in glass - cherry, apple and cola are all known "tank crackers" on the plastic clearos.

The watts/volts are very personal choices - Pick whichever mode you prefer (they are literally just 2 different roads with the exact same destination) and start low and just go up one click at a time. If it starts to taste burned back down a few clicks - you have to find the spot you prefer for each tank and flavor combination :)

Thanks guys,

Also I'm glad to hear I don't have to set both settings, I think the guy in the shop set mine at 3.6 and said to see how I go from there.

Taste seems good but a little scratchy on the back of the throat..

Is 12mg quite low or mid range?

I think 12mg is low/mid range.

(for me...??)

6 is low. 12 is low/mid and 18 is mid. 24 is high. 36 is v high. (could be rubbish, never though too much about it).

Where did you go in the end? Want to give a shout out?

in my experience(one month), online is the way to go if you are gonna get serious with vaping, mainly from a cost and selection stand point. I got my tesla in the mail and ran out to buy some juice from the local shop and paid 7.99 for 10ml. I also paid nearly 9bucks for one clearo at a local store. Ive been vaping with a kanger t3s for a few days now and love it, I got 5 of them for about 25 bucks online. The best juice stores ive found online are mount baker vapor and good life vapor. Mount baker will give a free bottle of juice on orders over 25bucks and shipping is fast plus prices are great. Good life lets you add menthol to any flavor you buy. Ive been using 24mg of nic in my juice, I was a 2.5 pack a day smoker and havnt missed the cigs at all.

Try this!! Hold down both little buttons at the same time. first thing you will see will be the Puff counter, then the ohms of the coil you have on it. Set the Volts by adding 2 to the ohms of the coil. 2.5 ohms = 4.5 volts. This should be a good starting point. Each juice may vape differntly at this setting but just take it up or down a little to get the best vape for each juice.
