Not to be a smart-alek, but when replacement heads are only $3, what are you getting by rebuilding a head?

Tinkering, saving ~2.95 a head, not having to use silica wicks, coiling lower ohm, or higher. Vaping's my hobby, and mucking about with this stuff is what I like to do. I DIY for the same reason, 0.50/ml is too high for me, and I want to see what horrid creations can be made good. Peanut butter redbull? Wont see that at a vendor and it's "odd" but I'm determined to make it work. Get in that round hole Mr. Square!

Only problem i see with cotton wicks (w/ or w/o the ss mesh) is the inability to dry burn.. So do you pretty much dispose of them when they're all gunked up? If not, how do you clean them? Without the mesh, it seems rather quick and trivial (not to mention cheap) to prep several coil+wick replacements and just throw away the old ones when they're gunked up... Yes?
