First off, let me state that i have not touched a cigarette since my PV arrived. I have been using a DSE 901 just in case anyone was wondering.

Day 1-3
As you are all aware, there is a learning curve and also you have to remember that it isn't like smoking. The first few days i was constantly vaping, in an attempt to keep any cravings from occuring, and it worked nicely. I used to smoke rolling tobacco so having to prepare the PV (At this time i was just topping up carts) wasn't such a problem for me. I made sure i stuck to vaping even though i couldn't taste the juice, mainly because i didn't know i had to clean the atty out and had a metallic taste overpowering the juice, anyhow i was finding it quite frustrating. I also had a sore throat as most people do and my juice was starting to get low so i ordered some new flavors, hoping it would make my vaping more pleasurable.

Day 3-5
My new flavors arrived and i had cleaned out my atty, so i started vaping some red-bull and was quite impressed, i could actually taste it now. However Christmas time was here and i started drinking and to my disappointment vaping just wasn't cutting it, but i didn't want to turn to analogs so i tried the pyramid tea-bag mod which helped a little, but then i went onto dripping and it felt like heaven :). I was highly satisfied with my 901 now and was just enjoying the experience.

Day 5-7
Still vaping the red-bull i'm starting to get annoyed with it, but it's almost finished so it's not too bad. I'm not sure if it's because i'm drinking a lot lately, but i'm not feeling as satisfied with vaping anymore, i seem to need to vape for a lot longer to get that for-filled feeling. This makes me think i'm wanting to go for a battery mod soon, but i started vaping to save £££ so i'm kinda stuck in limbo. With that said, i'm still vaping and will not be changing back to analogs, although when i'm drunk i do feel tempted to buy some.

Overall
I think that vaping is a good way to stay off analogs, it's helped for me a lot but i feel that once you start vaping, you start to get your own preferences and you need to adapt you PV to those needs. I personally feel that i will need a 6v device in the near future as i'm starting to have analog cravings more often, but we shall see what the future brings.

I'm pleased with the experience so far, i know this doesn't sound like a success story but i'm trying to give a realistic response to people as these are not miracle sticks.

Hang in there! I thought I'd never get off the analog's. After 30 years of 2 packs+ I was able to do it with vaping. It can get a little frustrating with the flavors etc. I'm not sure what mg. juice your using but I've kept some 24 and 36mg juice around for those TRYING times otherwise I usually vape 18mg and am starting to get satisfaction from 12mg when things are calm or in the mood to chain vape. I too wanted to save money as I'm now a disabled medic/firefighter. I've spent a lot of money on different models accessories and different juice's as well as a bunch of DIY supplies initially, but the spending is slowing down and I hope to too savings soon. There's no price for the happiness of not smoking the analogs and how much better I feel. Good Luck!

First post here. Didn't know I was going to quit analogs last Tuesday when I received my DSE 901 mini. After an hour or two of vaping Tobacco from Tasty Vapor I knew I could break the 3+ packs a day of Marlboro Lights and a forty year monkey on my back. I Thank all of you for the info thats gonna make 2010 a great year! I would never have believed I could make it a week.

Keep on keeping on guys. You can do it! But you are right, at first it seems like a lot of fuss..and the expense! But as you get the hang of it and learn what's best for you, it replaces the old habit.
You know you have arrived when a passing smoker smells terrible..the scent of smoke isn't pleasingand you don't know what happened to your lighter.
I tried 901 and loved it..but got sick of buying batteries, I tried mods and a mini pipe, again fine but still didn't make the grade. I now use a KR808 with cartomizers. That works for me..plus with adapters I can still use all my old devices.
keep posting and sharing, it really helps you and those who are just starting.

I'd forgotten about posting this actually, i've just read it and found it quite amusing, because vaping is like 2nd nature to me now just like rolling tobacco was for me back then.

Erm, well i'll do a little re-cap of what i remember since i posted this.

Beginning of jan 2010 i let my guard down a little, i ran out of juices and went back to tobacco until my juice arrived. It was a big deal back then as i didn't want to, but we learn from our mistakes.

Erm since then i tried mixing juices (didn't enjoy), also tried HV mods (The Copper) and my newly acclaimed 'Little Gem' made by GarryDibley.

I don't really know what to say, i don't want to smoke so there's no problem of going back. Lifes good :)

The uptake of nicotine is slower with vaping than smoking. Some of the chemicals they put in the tobacco make the absorption of nicotine fast, ammonia is one of these chemicals. When you want a cigarette just vape like a maniac and the craving will go away. Going high volt is a definite help with getting that analog feeling with the E-cig. You can also consider what level nicotine juice you are using, I found that high volt with 36mg did the trick for me.
