I definitely recommend trying the mini-tanks (aka Kanger T4s) and LR cartomizers in addition to the regular cartos. You might find, as I did, that you like using all three for different purposes.

I did get a mini tank with my kit, and just tried it for the first time a few minutes ago, and... WOW!! I used the sample of Voodoo they sent with the kit, and while its probably not going to be my preferred flavor, I can't stress enough how happy I am with the vape I get from the tank! Until now I had only used prefilled carts, but I will definetly be adding more mini tanks to my stash. Can't wait till my Cafe Mocha & Malibu juice arrive!

Grimwald-Thank you for the recommendation. Does that carto give you much trouble? I'm always willing to pay a little more for something idiot proof.

DC2-Very informative. You apparently give a knowledgable ammount of ....s about batteries. That's really cool. I noticed you are from SD. I live in Oceanside btw. Do you own a shop down here?

Vapo-I don't know if it's a problem with my manual or a learning curb that I need to get over. I just threw a thicker juice in the cartridge and now I'm getting like no vapor. My auto is getting plenty. It just doesn't taste like battery for once.

Kirkus I was having trouble with my manual too, but I hooked up a mini tank full of juice to it tonight and it works great. I guess it was the prefilled carts that were holding it back. I still prefer the auto though, simply because I don't want the extra step of pressing the button and hassle of timing my puff just right.

Yeah, it got pretty bad today while I was out and about. I loaded up a carto of some tasty, but unsteeped butter rum, mixed with unsteeped malty taffy today. It tasted really smooth at first, but it was so rich I got sugar belly. The richness and flavor still came out in the manual for some reason. I had to pick up a pack of cigarettes. I'm going to throw out that cart, it's just contaminated. I still feel like I just ate a bowl of cake batter and washed it down with a gallon of cream soda.

Sort of my fault. I ordered the butter rum with three shots because the negative review said the hardly tasted anything.
This is how I feel regardless.

There are two great things about manual batteries, though:

You can hit the button about a second before you inhale and there's a nice hit of vapor all ready to go. This feels more like smoking to me; after all, a cigarette was already "on" before I took a drag off it.

You can let go of the button about a second before you finish your drag and you won't leave residual vapor inside the cart/tank to turn into condensation and end up in your mouth.

Operating the button takes a little getting used to but it becomes second nature very quickly. I've only been off cigarettes for a little over 5 weeks but if I decided to smoke one now, I'm sure I'd be involuntarily pressing on the phantom button with every drag.

Manual batteries are also sealed which if you get stuck in the rain, or just HAVE to have a value in the shower or pool, you should be okay.

Somewhere out there
I quit with Halo G6 and Tribeca and Menthol Mist, it works! I actually use a Triton and Triton clearos every day because they ego sized, charge fast and those Triton cleaors (tanks) are the best clearos I have tried and I tried alot of them. I have other way more expensive APV's but the Triton for a step up from G6 is great. Plus I love the size of Triton. The USB charger for Triton is different than the G6 USB, I mark mine so I don't mix them up. Have fun and enjoy! bnrk

I was wondering if the big expensive manual batteries have the same learning curb as these little guys. Honestly the manual is starting to piss me off. I'm definitely getting all the flavor, but the throat hit is hard to detect and the vapor production is pretty weak. Maybe it's me and not the battery, but the automatic kicks out the vapor effortlessly.

Something must be wrong with that battery.

Are you using the manual with a cart or a tank/clearomizer? I thought I had a bad manual too until I used the tank, now I almost get too much throat hit, I've choked myself a couple times, lol.

I have the plain old cartos that came with the starter kit. I think I wouldn't be complaining about the manual if I didn't have the auto to compare it to. The manual still has it's uses. It's good for going stealth and the juices last long after the auto sends that gross battery flavor. But if I were stuck with the manual I'd smoke more cigarettes.

I'm definitely going to invest in a variety of clearos and tanks. Preferably one for each flavor group, like I'm starting to do now with the stock cartos.

Deanacal, maybe you can answer a question I have about the G6 batteries. Is there a limited amount of standby life for them? Or will they hold a full charge indefinitely until you start using them? I don't use mine at all during the workday, so if I take a couple of fully charged batteries and throw them in my purse, but don't use them for 10 hours or so, have they lost any charge during that time? I know mine seem to work fine when I get off work and vape on the way home, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're still fully charged.

And also, does anyone know if you can over-charge them? I usually charge mine at night when I sleep but I want to know if thats detrimental to the life of the battery. I have checked the website but didn't see info on either of these questions, only info about battery life while actually using it. It also says it usually takes two hours to charge, but doesn't state if charging it longer is harmful.

I fell off the wagon for over a year. Recently got back into vaping. While waiting for my Halo Triton to arrive, I pulled out my old G6 batts, cartos, and all the other stuff I had. The V2 and G6 batts still had a full charge, after over a year of sitting idle. Juice was a little stale, but it's doing the trick until my Triton comes tomorrow. I spent over a year vaping 808 cig-a-likes, and IMO, nothing beats the Halo G6 blank cartomizers. I'll still be using them from time to time when the Triton comes, I'm sure.

Welcome to the Halo family, Kirkus. I am still happily using my G6 .With automatic batteries. I am not a really a heavy vaper so the batteries last me a long time. Halo's Belgian Cocoa is something you might like if you like dark chocolate; it has the slightly bitter undertone that good dark chocolate has, and a good chocolate taste without being sticky sweet.

It sounds like something is wrong with your manual battery.
That's the only reason I can think of where a manual battery would NOT perform better than an automatic battery.

As for how long they last, that will depend on how long you activate them during a drag...

If you press the button on the manual longer than you activate the automatic by inhaling, then the automatic will last longer.
And vice versa.

I'm still using the G6 exclusively, but I cannot stand the one manual battery I have. It performs ok I guess, I just hate using it. I just want to pick up and puff, not time my puff to pressing a button. Same reason I prefer an automatic car to a stick shift I guess :)
I don't even know where my manual is anymore, I just have a stock of auto's I rotate.
