So about a week ago there was an article in the NYtimes about vape shops in oklahoma. After reading it and watching the video I decided to give vaping a serious try for the first time (I've had disposables before but I never likes them much.) I got an ego style ecig at the local head shop and some cinnamon liquid.

Almost immediately I realized I was going to have a real chance at quitting smoking for the first time. I've tried the gum, the patch, the lozenge. I'm a 2 PAD smoker and nothing ever helped me quit for more than a day or two. But vaping was fun! and it tasted so good.

I cut down to just 4 cigarettes on the first day, and I've been smoking 2-3 every day since then. That is CRAZY. I can smell again and my breathing is better already.

I'm kind of obsessive about things so I read a lot on these forums and looked for advice on better liquid. So far my favorites are a banana chip flavor from the local vape shop and five pawns grandmaster. I'm really surprised I like these sweet flavors but the tobaccos I've tried don't taste right to me.

Cigarettes cost $12 a pack in Chicago. I haven't bought a pack in 7 days. That is serious savings.

I just ordered an joyetech eroll after reading about it on the forums. I feel pretty silly sucking on my ego lightsaber in public, so I'm hoping the eroll works well enough for when I'm out and about.

So vaping is great! But you all knew that already. Thanks for all the advice these forums are pretty great.

Welcome neighbor and congrats!

You'll find it a pleasant change and it comes with all kinds of cool toys. I broke the habit in February and started off the same way. Since than I offset any saving's with a little bit better PV's and the taste only got better.

Good luck on your journey. I can tell you from my experience that if you need help there are so many people here to guide you down the right path. It's been nothing but a positive learning experience for me since I joined...... well except for all the cash I dropped on the new toys :)

You may realize that it is a good conversation starter after you get your skin thick enough to handle all the weird looks, and remember that that light saber has already added days, weeks, or years to your life. That very conversation may add days, weeks, or years to someone else's life as well, and it will all be because you had 5 minutes to spare for a conversation! :D

Yeah I'm ok using it outside or in my car but I think I need the cig-a-like for social situations. We'll see. I LOVE using the ego in my car. I haven't driven anywhere with the windows rolled up in years.

I really relate. The one place I feel like I can't do without a vape is when I'm in the car. I love it too.

Congratulations and welcome to ECF! It's great place for advice and support.

Oh, and don't forget to get some extra coils for your tank..!

Thanks... yeah I picked up some atomisers at the local vape shop. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know when to replace them, but the guy at the shop said "you'll know." I am wondering how to take care of and clean the atomizer before it's replaced (or if I should.) Just run it under some water occasionally, I'm thinking?

when it starts tasing bad and working as well as when you first started using it thats how you "will know" there is definately a learning curve and can be overwhelming at first but there are lots of people here willing to help! this is a great forum!!!!! when they start tasting bad i run the coil under the hottest water i can stand and let dry over night, prime the wicks in the morning and vape to my little hearts content. congrats on quitting and dont be afraid to ask any questions here even if you think they might be "stupid" ones. everyone has to learn at some point, welcome to the vaping world!

Great to hear you're doing so great vapeing :D

I was doing cherry and just picked up some Hawaiian Tropical juice from local store selling Tsunami stuff.....You might want to try it....GREAT IMO. Kind of citrusy almost tastes like that blue cotton candy at the carnival ? (but I didn't clean out and wasn't completely empty of cherry)
