Hi there,

My first post ever in these forums, although I've been a lurker here for the past month and a half or so. I thought it was about time for me to come forward and thank you all for the invaluable source of information you provide to beginners like me first of all.

And now, with the reason for me starting this thread:

On Monday I ordered three 18mg juice samples, Viginia, BH & 555, from a UK vendor.

When I received them yesterday I found that 2 of these juices, the Virginia particularly but the B&H too, had this rancid fish and chips stench, quite offensive really. So much so that my instinct made me think there might be something wrong with them (OTOH, the 555 liquid tasted great. Not entirely my thing, but I sure can understand why some people would like it).

I have to say, I am not a fussy vaper at all, same I was never fussy regarding tobacco brands when I used to chain smoke. However, I haven't been able to bring myself to try these liquids yet thinking that soaking my lungs with them might be bad for me or something.

Also, for the past 6 weeks I have been buying (mostly Dekang, I think) tobacco flavoured juice from nearly every store I could find it at a reasonable price, as I wanted to try them all. Some of them I didn't like as you would expect ( still mixed them with something else and vaped them though, I hate waste), but I had never felt this apprehensive to try a liquid before.

So, are Virginia and B&H juice supposed to have a revolting fishy smell like that or have I just found a dodgy batch?

Sorry about the short novel. This is why I never post on forums

Iv'e not had anything that smelled like that, and I can't see where I would inhale it either.

I'm sure someone else will tell you what's up with its.
They all (the ones I have tried ) have about the same smell, other then a slight odor by flavor, nothing more.

Our sense of small is a good thing to pay attention to, if it;s off, then chances are, not so good .

LOL no newspaper smell, no :D

Newspaper taste, I don't know: I am not going to inhale the dodgy stuff in order to find out, that's for sure. God knows what is in it that makes it reek like that

I quite like some of the tobacco flavours I've tried so far, don't get me wrong. I could happily vape Winston, Camel, Kent or RY4 to name a few on a daily basis. The problem with me is that I am still thinking that there may be a better one I still haven't tried.

Also, when I feel analogue smoking cravings coming back, swapping liquids makes them go away fast.

About the fruity flavours, that's very good advice and I can see myself vaping these in the near future. For the time being though I do only feel satisfied with a high nic tobacco vape :(. It's psychological, I know, but I still need this. I'll be over it soon.

I understand where you are coming from...smoked rollies for the last several years...I was convinced that would only use hardcore tobacco flavours, that changed once my tastebuds started coming back and I realised that vaping isn't smoking.

I now like the 555 (which is nutty and not very tobacco like IMO) and the sweet RY4.

The Virginia that I thought would be my staple vape has fallen right down the pecking order...I will be grabbing a big stack of fun flavours sooner rather than later.

I suspect you've got a bad batch. I have Virginia now and it is one of the better smelling juices. Smells like tobacco but sweet.

The Marlboro juice I have right now is in a plastic bottle that smells just terrible, like chemicals. The juice smells ok, but the bottle stinks. Vapes great though.

Try dropping the juice out on something and smelling it. Maybe its the bottle that stinks? If it still smells bad I'd sent it back.

Virginia may not be a big favorite, but I haven't found anyone who thinks its bad yet.
