Fish friendly?

A while back I was reading a thread about dropping e cigs while fishing. Into the water to be specific. Went fishing today, and tried to be careful. So I ended up dropping it, onto rocks. Then it rolled into the water. When I grabbed it out the Clearomizer was intact, but the battery not so much lol. Maneuvering a fishing pole and an e cig is kind of pain. Any tips besides a lanyard? Anything around my neck is annoying.

I have one of those floating key receptacles that are for boaters. An ego battery and clearo/carto fits in there, and I hang it off my belt loop by the chain that comes with it.

I was gonna say get a lanyard. Then I read the whole post. Not sure what to recommend. I kayak fish a lot and pretty much have to use a lanyard. Kind of pain, it gets tangled with my earbuds and the cord that keeps my hat on my head. But, that's better than an ecig in the drink. Are just shore fishing or are you wading too?

Military technique: find, buy, or make a special pocket for your device somewhere you feel would be convenient. Arm, chest, leg, what ever works for you. Custom fit said pocket so that what ever device you are using is secure but easy to access (flaps with Velcro work wonders). This will not save you if you get the monster hit while taking a hit.. but in general gives you easy access and security. Degrades 3.8% per beer though...

i got a cheap flashlight belt clip and a vamo just for fishing..

i feel much better about wasting a 30 dollar mod compared to my nice ones lol

When I go fishing I use my cheap setup joyetech ego upgrade and a clearo keep it in my pocket use rod holders and have plenty of time to repocket before I catch my fish went yesterday caught 6 blues and 2 stripe and 0 lost ecig. You could use a case for the belt that's what I use at work

The ones people use for jogging? I was using a pretty cheap battery it was 19 bucks. Fishing and vaping is odd. Spent all those years chain smoking while I fished. Meh I have the rest of the summer and fall to get it figured out.
