I recently got a Vamo V5. This is my first VV/VW device. I also purchased an airflow controller to put on top to protect the 510 threads. I chose protank 2's for the Vamo since the protank 2 minis work so well on my ego twists. Right away I was experiencing the dreaded gurgle from the protank and not much air draw when the protank was tightened down enough that it didn't wobble around. I tried the various remedies recommended to get rid of the gurgle. Flavor wicks removed, more flavor wicks added. Changed to bigger o ring on bottom of coil. Then flipped silicone cup on coil shaft upside down. This helped the best so far, but still got the gurgle and not enough of an airy draw. Next I added a second silicone cup positioned the correct way. Little draw with burnt taste starting. Figured that the 2 silicone cups was too much and was squishing down over the wicks. Took second cup off and left the upside down one. As last resort, I took a set of precision drill bits and drilled the air holes on the PT2 larger. Stepped up drill bit sizes until I got the airy draw I like. Was also able to take out some of the flavor wicks also. The PT2 is awesome now. Getting good vapor clouds and have gone through 3 tanks and not one gurgle. Thought I would share this. The setup is perfect for me now and maybe this will help someone else who is having PT2 issues and doesn't want to spend the extra money to add an aero base.

I think the air controller base was not letting enough air through with protank screwed all the way down. I still wanted to use it because it looks good on the Vamo while protecting the 510 threads. I had to screw tank all the way down to prevent wobble. This fix is kind of specific to this setup, but I think that not enough air flow causes the gurgle. Without good air flow, the suction causes more juice to enter than can be vaporized. Hence the gurgle. Just IMO.
