I wonder if something along these lines is the reason for the problem I was seeing the other day.

I just got a Kayfun, so naturally I'm building coils for it. I thought it would be handy to check the ohms of the coil with the vv3, since it's much easier to test ohms with it, than with my Sigelei. However when I screwed the kayfun's base to the vv3, it would give me *nothing* but "non", even though it seemed to be fully screwed down, completely engaged in the 510 connector. I didn't know what to do about it, so I just took the kayfun base off and tested it on the Sigelei; the main problem with that is that you're supposed to test the ohms before firing, and the only way to see the ohms on the Sigelei is to actually press it as if you're firing it.

I've also noticed that when I use a flared coned with my smok UDCT on the vv3, again I get the "non" (though it doesn't show me that when I check it *without* the flared cone). I did the "pry the battery post up with a tiny screwdriver" fix and it worked fine, I was able to use my smok UDCT *with* flared cone with the vv3. But I wasn't sure if this was the issue, and hence the solution, for the problem with the kayfun's connection.

Thx

Nice post, Just wanted to add that the 'The O-ring/Washer Fix' will also work for another problem I was having (posted here)

My MVP started showing R0.0 as soon as I put a tank on it (tried several tanks). It seems that the insulator under the pin wasn't working correctly, if I lightly pressed down on the pin with a pencil (anything non metallic) it would immediately short out. I used the same technique as the o-ring to fix it and it has been working ok since.

I do seem to have lost the red LED through this fix though, I guess I dislodged an internal wire when pulling pin up and either shorted it or pulled it off completely.

I fixed a newer MVP and a vv using the O-ring method and they work great. Tried pulling the pin up on my older MVP and pulled to hard/far. It broke loose from the wire so I had to take it apart and re-solder it. Works like a champ now too. Just be careful when you pull the pin up, be patient, take your time and don't pull it up too far.
