Fixing to buy SS wire

I got frustrated looking for answers in my search of the forums. The question is, what gauge wire should I buy for TC SS316L coils? And how many wraps should I use? Fixing to buy 100 ft. of wire today. Also, do the coils need to be spaced? I'm looking to vape just above the minimum resistance, but want to stay on the safe side because I don't have an ohm tester.

Hi and welcome,
A) The gauge of the wire will determine it's resistance per length (ohms per inch/meter)
B) Any TC device WILL have an ohm meter as part of the circuit.
C) What atomizer? What TC battery unit?
D) WHY DO YOU NEED TO VAPE "just above the minimum resistance"? (insecurity?)
E) What are you using to make coils now? Mandrel size? target resistance?
F) Have you used Coil wrapping yet?

A) Respectfully, that's why I asked.
B) I don't trust the ohm meter on the units.
C) I am using the Cupti with the CLRBA, and would like to use my Nebox with the RBA, but not sure of the settings I would need to use for stainless steel (there is no preset for SS).
D) To get the maximum life out of my batteries.
E and F) This will be my first time wrapping coils. My new coil jig will arrive in the mail today, but need to order wire. I believe the Mandrel size is 20, I will get back with that when it arrives, it is not listed on my Ebay order. Target resistance, about .6 ohms.

What kind of "unit" are you using that you wouldn't trust the ohm meter?

I put a stock coil in that is supposed to be a .5 ohm and my display says .5 if I put in a .25 I get .25. If I use steam enigine and target .6 ohms I get .61 to .59.

I'm using a Fuchai and I trust the reading.

As previously stated I am using a Cupti and a Nebox. I have read that they tend to be a little off. As long as I am above .5 ohms I am safe to use SS with TC, from what I've been able to glean.

My favorite SS is...308, which is wire for welding, 1mm...but i would not recommend this for anyone else.

Differences between 304 (V2A) and 316 (V4A) are not too big.

Good wire for coil building is wire, that beekeepers use. In german it is called "Wabendraht", can't find a translation...something like that: Produkt: Imkereibedarf Tyroller

Thanks so much for everybody's help. I went ahead and bought 28 gauge beekeepers wire, and the calculator said 7 wraps.
