Last night I was watching TV vaping away, when all of the sudden I noticed that the battery light was on even though I wasn't hitting it at the time. It made a pretty loud hissing sound, the light started blinking then stopped, but after that the smell of the atomizer has a burntness to it, and so does all of the taste.

I thought that maybe it thought I was still puffing so I immediately removed the battery.

I've read that this could be due to an empty cart, so I tried refilling it... the taste is still there, should I clean out the atomizer? It's still producing plenty of vapor, it just tastes bad.

I'm using a DSE901 from Puresmoker by the way.

You've just had the cleaning cycle kick in. After so many puffs (it varies) the chip will trigger the atomiser. It's supposed to clean the crud off but it tends to just make a nasty taste & smell. Blow out the atomiser and run it through with some water and dry out. Then re-prime it. Will probably taste a bit funny for a while but it goes after a bit.

Most people remove the battery when they see it starting the cycle but you can also remove the cart and let it do it's thing. That's risky though as the atomiser can burn out if it's too dry.

Keep an eye out for it as chances are your other batteries will be due a cleaning cycle as well if they were purchased at the same time.

Did what you said and everything was fine, the other battery did it too so I had to do it again.

Now... it's happening almost twice an hour. I have to screw off the battery and if I don't notice it in time the bad taste comes back. I think it's only with this battery but my other one is charging...

Why would it continue to try to clean it? Wouldn't the chip reset the counter or something? I've hit the cut-off a few times just messing around so I dont think that the battery is improperly activating the atomizer thinking I'm puffing that long.

I've also noticed that as of late, instead of dimming out the light at the end of the battery will *sometimes* shut off abruptly. It doesn't really effect much, and it only happens near the end of my inhale...

The symptoms now indicate a sticky switch in the battery that is causing the current to stay on to the vaporiser. I would stop using the battery as you run the risk of it burning out your vaporiser. Get a new battery.
