I was wondering is it possible to use a flashlight modded up. But keep using the 3 AA batteries instead of using a modded battery as well. Will this work or not?

I don't know if the AA batteries push enough voltage to get the atty hot enough. Never tried it, just always put a 14500 in there instead.
I thought I seen were One AA is 1.5 volts so three would be 4.5? Is this not right?
Alkaline non-rechargeable would not be practical because of the cost, but would provide a good voltage. 3 NiMH rechargeable AA's would be lower, but still high enough to vape. One problem with NiMH batteries is they can't handle very low resistance, but 3 of them with a 3 ohm atomizer would still vape okay, might be a little on the weak side though. You could use 3 NiZn rechargeable batts and get voltage even a little higher than Alkalines, but I've read reports they wear out pretty fast.
I had tried it with 3 aaa's thought it would be 4.5 volts but it's not.It's more like 3.6 and very little vapor.
You'll get much better voltage delivery with AA over AAA. Short of an involved technical explanation, with any battery, the bigger it is, the less voltage sags under load. Though, even with 3 AA NiMH batts, you're going to get a vape on the weak side. You pretty much need 4 of them, and then you need to limit yourself to an atty resistance no less than 3Ω.
ok i was just looking for something that i could make, that i would not have much into, wanting to use it to take on float trips and stuff and wouldn't care if it got damaged or even destroyed?
