For clouds I use a competition Kennedy with dual coils. 22g kanthal, 6 wraps on 3mm bit. COmes out around .21 or .22 and it's great. Flavor really depends on the atty for me. The Freakshow mini is a good flavor atty that doesn't short-change the vapor production. I try to shoot for between .3 and .4 ohms, usually 7-8 wraps of 22g on a 2.5mm bit.

Awesome, i got a dual zipper coil right now, .16 ohms, its doin good for flavor and clouds but its on a doge x2, what is something that helps flavor? Air restriction? Heat? Or pretty much the atty?

It is possible to have both. I rebuilt my Tugboat V2 recently using the stock coils that it comes with. Came out to 0.25 ohms, big vapor production and the flavor is almost too intense.
The coils are (I believe) nichrome 80 dual coil, 8 tightly spaced wraps at 2.0mm. The Tugboat has an internally domed top cap, and relatively tight airflow which has a lot to do with the flavor production. The truth is there is no majik formula that I'm aware of, it's a matter of experimentation and of course the results are entirely subjective.

Have a look at this thread which discusses the subject.

It's a combination of everything. Too much airflow will help vapor production but dilute taste. The design of the atty will impact the taste as well. Also, size of coil wraps seems to help determine taste as well. Partially due to the amount of airflow that can move around the coil as well as how much juice will wick into the coil. It's basically just a trial and error game to get the combination you're looking for.

Alright idk if its been my atty, new juice, new wick coils or I got vapers tongue, but lately my juices taste like crap, im gonna try to steep them and take your suggestions

For clouds, I usually stick to my doge v2. It's been a work horse for me, and lately I've been making twisted 28g nickel/kanthal claptons to get great clouds and consistent flavor.

As for flavor, my go to is an Aeolus with a 6 wrap single coil fused Clapton. She gets a little hot but it's the truest flavor rda I have.

If you have a temp control device, you can get great flavor out of your doge. When I am going for flavor out of that atty I'll run a single ni200 clapton on single coil airflow, with the airflow half closed. I am running my temp control off a sigelei 150 tc, and because I'm using a 28g ni200/kanthal clapton, the temp control usually is about 20 degrees off.

For non-temp control devices, your best bet with the doge is to use the zipper you were talking about with the airflow as restricted as you can handle. Building the coil above the cyclops airflow vent also helps greatly. Best of luck with the flavor chasing!

Don't know if this has a name but seen it before. Been vaping on these builds for months great flavor/vapor, 28g kanthal 32g nichrome 80 Clapton parallel with 24g kanthal

In this specific one the 24g has one less wrap. Has a staged heating effect. Vapes nice huge clouds and great flavor.

5 wraps is just under .2 ohms I don't remember what the picture ohmed out to.

Yea that one build is a diamond coil, i havent tried that but i will give it a go, and the other is a staged heating coil with clapton and 24G. Ive done alot of the fancy builds, but my favorite so far is a plain 24G parallel build. It does clouds and flavor pretty well. Gonna try these things and restrict airflow, i also have a derringer if that helps come up with ideas.

This is the parallel im currently using

these always have great flavour
24gn80 7/64 0.4ohms on the sigelei between 70-100watts its nice
Slip take it one step further and make it look like iron man's arc reactor lol. That would be a sick coil. Maybe I'll try making a dual with the triangle in a circle with the second coil being the reactor circular wraps around it.
As for flavor and clouds both at the same time, staged heating coils work out the best. Like a 24/34g Clapton parallel to a single strand of 24g.

This is a staged heater, fused 28g/38g Clapton parallel to one strand of either 24 or 26, I don't remember.

yeah Tom you could do the 3 sets to make the triangle then use mesh to form the circle.

i still have the diamond coils running, cant fault it.

my other two attys have one with dual 6wrap paralled to 5wrap both 24gn80 7/64 and the other atty 8wrap parallel to 7wrap both 24gn80 on 7/64 But one is 0.06 and the other 0.08ohms they act like staged this way & are pretty intense on the flavour, but i seem to find that with all the hot builds lol

EDIT: Oh! and the low ohm builds are both on 3x18650 mods for safety :) safety first! ;)

I will say I have not built a clapton yet but I have wire coming in to build some claptons, but after micro, macro, nano, parallel, twisted, zipper, single, dual, quad, subohm, high ohm, air restriction, wick styles, I have finally found my sweet spot! And like I said, this is after multiple build variations. So the build I have in my Fuhattan on a Doge X2 RDA as of now is a triple twisted dual micro coil. Each coil is twisted with two 26G Kanthal wires and one 24G Nichrome 80 wire. They are tilted with the middle post lead higher than the outside lead. This particular build is .23 ohms, I like my flavor builds around .25 so this is perfect. I also do not have to restrict air flow with this and the flavor is really intense still. Im using Cotton Bacon V2 for my wicking and I did the iTEO wicking method which is my favorite of all. With this wicking, you can use more than double your normal wicking amount and you put a thick line of whatever juice your using on your wick after its rolled out and twist it kinda tight. This creates a tight wick in your coil, you can look up iTEO wicking. So I believe thats about what has worked for me, I will definately update if I find something better. Heres some pics, the first few are after I built the first coil, but I made the other later on.
