Not trying to say your "wrong" by going the tobacco route...can only tell you from my personal experience...and everyone is different.
I tried for the longest time to find a tobacco flavor that tasted like my Camel Light. I think it was a wasted endeavor. I don't think you are every going to find something that tastes exactly like your old cigarette...I could be wrong and if you do great...but if not try out some different flavors to see if that will help.
I've been describing it as my "epiphany vaping moment". And don't recall now if it was with a caramel/vanilla/tobacco flavor or if it was something like a strawberry short cake flavor. But it's the moment that your brain says to you "You know this isn't half bad...I kind of like this...it doesn't have to taste like my Camel Light in order for this to work for me."
Now I cheated at first. Went from about 1.25 pack a day to maybe about a pack a month. I'd still have one in the morning or one in the evening or one on a car ride, etc because I missed my "Camel Light" taste. It was kind of like going from Camel Lights to say Marlboro Lights, or even Kents...it was just different than what I was used to. But eventually when I had that "ahh haa moment" and realized it didn't have to be the same I haven't cheated since. Hopefully you'll eventually have that moment as well. It might come with a tobacco flavor or it might come with a green apple flavor...who knows. Your taste buds and mind will eventually tell you what will work.
As I said before I started the tobacco flavor route but now I hardly use them at all and if I do I mix in some mint, watermelon, or other random flavor about half and half into my tank. I just find that with tobacco flavors if I don't mix them something else I always get that "This doesn't taste like my Camel Light" feeling. So for me other flavors is what did that mental mind trick to get me completely off of cigs.
If you want to try out a wide range of vendors and flavors this has been my go to link
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...cussion/458263-3ml-cheap-sampler-bottles.html. Try tobacco and other flavors to see what works for you. If you find one you like you can always go back and order a bigger bottle for economical reasons.
EDIT: FYI with the above link scroll through the pages...I lost the ability to edit my original post and keep everything at the top. There is no order of vendor preference I just kept them in the order that they came in.
