Hi,

New guy here, just got my Envy Ego-Tank the other day. I got the "regular tobacco" flavor as a prefilled pack-in, and I also got a couple of bottles of juice. I just finished one of the pre-filled ones; it was just ok. I washed out the tank and filled it with the Strawberry Daiquiri flavor I got, but I noticed it doesn't much taste like strawberry. If I didn't know it was strawberry, I probably couldn't tell you what flavor it is just by taste.

My tastebuds should be fine, prior to this I was a maybe pack or two a month smoker, if that. Can there be a quality difference in juice so severe that the juice just wouldn't have much flavor? I read other people's posts on here about flavors that taste remarkably close to what they're supposed to be (chocolate flavor that tastes like a candy bar for example). Are they just exaggerating, or do juices like that - that amount and quality of flavor - exist? Any other things I should consider?

Thanks.

Still could be your taste buds. Flavors is so subjective. I think also what kind of flavor makes a diff. What base Alcohol, PG or VG I think. Also some of them have a standard, high and double flavor intensity. Quality is definitely a factor. Try sample packs from vendors you see mentioned on here and when you find one you like go for it.
Wish I could be more help this seems to be something that we are destined to go through. Being on here and going to the Juice posts will help you.
Welcome to ECF From Dallas Texas or so as to not disappoint Hi Y'all. LOL

Welcome to the ECF! There are a couple issues with flavors. First off, you say your taste buds are fine, but are you sure? Second, some juices just won't taste right, no matter what you use for them. Third, before you use any juice, give the bottle a good shake.

Taste buds: even if you smoke 2 cigs a day, it's gonna throw off taste buds. Do things taste the same for you, or can you tell a difference? It takes time for taste buds to make a comeback, no matter how much you smoked.

Juice: I have tried a apple cinnamon that was nasty. I tried a blueberry flavor that tastes like fabric softener. It can also depend on the VG/PG content of the juice. Giving the bottle a shake is good to get everything mixed up. Just like shaking salad dressing or shampoo.

There is also something called desesitation. You can vape the same flavor all day long, but, your taste buds get used to that and after time it all starts tasting the same or can just taste gross. The trick to this is to mix up your flavors. Vape a strawberry flavor for a few hours, then switch to a caramel flavor. Then after a few hours, change to something else. Lots of people who vape use a few different flavors a day. It keeps your taste buds from getting bored.

I know this might sound silly but remember we're talking about vapor here. A vanilla pudding e-juice will never 'taste' the same as vanilla pudding - it won't have the texture of course but also not the prolonged contact with your tasters ;) Vaping "flavors" to me are more ephemeral, more like tasting a scent and smelling a taste really than what I normally think of as "tasting". It's important to remember apples to apples. Hope that makes sense!

Not silly at all. I have had quite a few flavors that don't even taste like what it should taste like. There were some that were spot on. I had a Big Red gum flavor that tasted just like it. I have had an orange sherbet that is right on the money. I have had some that tasted right, but, the vapor smelled like a backed up sewer. :)
