Actually, I guess I can give a sneak preview... (shameless plug, it's "authentic MaiTai" at gourmet vapors). Anyway, the actual flavoring mix is the following (not sure what brands any of these are). 40% rum, 30% orange, 20% lime, 10% almond. The drink recipe actually calls for oregaut syrup which isn't exactly almond, but I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as oregaut flavor concentrate (if yo do find it, put that on the list too ;-) )

Also the rum should be Martinique rum, which I have the real stuff I'm thinking of trying that in the recipe as well in a similar way to using PGA in some recipes. Not too sure how well that might work :)

Sounds awesome. What I am running into for the lime and orange flavors are the oil base flavors - which may not be soluble.

Because of this I have a few variations of these flavors coming in - trying to get a match with something ready to use. Will keep updated here.

Yeah, hadn't thought about that. Orange oil is probably easier to make than orange flavored stuff. Another option may be triple sec, I don't know who makes it but one of the vendors I get hardware from carries it in their flavor extract offerings.

I'll look for that. I do have a PG based lime/lemon sample coming too in the meanwhile.

question....is your butter (movie popcorn) just a butter flavor, or is there the popcorn also? If it's not the popcorn, I'd love to see that too...it makes a great base flavor:)

This one is going to be really subjective because it is a really strong flavor (they sway pretty huge one way or another between people usually) - but to me it is a pure butter flavor. It kind of makes you think about popcorn but it's pretty much super butter in a bottle.

wow it's been that long since I bugged you for anything else? :) As I'm starting to put together my order for next week (gotta get that rum!) I noticed a lack of mint (other than chocolate mint). Can you put some kinda mint (peppermint or spearmint I suppose would be doable) on the list? Need to make mojitos too :)

I did find wintergreen, that might work :)

Also, a suggestion for a site enhancement. I'm not sure if this is at all practical, but if there was some way to have a section in the flavor's description with suggested concentrations for mixing, that would be awesome.

I suspect that you get a lot of people like myself who are new to DIY because of the small quantity sizes you have and that's one of the biggest challenges I've had is figuring out what concentrations to use.

Actually... brilliant! That will add both mint and a little bit of sweetness (I'm assuming it's sweet). In the cart it goes :)

It's a fairly strong peppermint (@ 20%), with just a touch of sweetness... :thumb:

(and this is coming from a former menthol smoker who makes their own drops... ha!!)

Good call. We're actually putting together a card that will go with all orders pretty soon. It will be a quick guide for a basic recipe with a flavor at 20% - so that new DIYers can sub that flavor with one of their choice and be on the right track.

As for the individual flavor percents - it varies alot by user. I may go through and post some suggestions but it really is about experimenting.

I believe as the "reviews" area for each of the flavors gets used more it will eventually be populated with that kind of info with various viewpoints which will be very helpful. I am going to start a spreadsheet too since i cant really go back and edit posts so if anyone has a preferred % of a certain flavor let me know and I will record it thanks.

:) - still recovering from the last sale (usps took a day off too which was a bummer).

Have a few updates coming for this weekend so stay tuned. Also have been beta testing a few new flavors and may be adding in a section for hardware - at least cartridges to start.

Any preferred cartos requests?
