Hmm, gonna have to try this, I liked pipe smoke also. Although mixing FA at this strength would make it a little pricey.
Yes it would, but consider this. The price per ml of DIY is fractions of what bought liquids cost. Here is a link where you can get 'em in large qty.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Switched!

.........Mixed a bunch last night 12-13% in an 80/20 base of 25mg, with one drop of Wizard. Oh yeah baby they rock and roll......

And you too, Max :)

I had been mixing FA at the 1-2% that they recommend. I was not happy. I was starting to think vaping just might not work for me. So I took your advice and mixed up a few bottles - Virginia, Burley, Shade at 12-ish % and WOW :D:D:D a whole new world opened up for me. I don't feel like I am vaping air anymore.

Shade I can't describe, but I really like it - maybe a mild 555 or RY4. Virginia is probably my favorite - it tastes like sweet hay. I would like to copy the Blucigs classic tobacco carts flavor and I would love to get my hands on some DuMaurier/ DoMorEh flavoring. That has a very strong hay flavor without the sweetness. I'd like to DIY some 555 too. Does anyone know where to get DuMaurier, hay, or 555 flavor drops?

I get my Flavor Art from Happy Vaper. He also has Capella, and Perfumers Apprentice - and no VAT tax to pay :)

Thanks again,
~A

Angelique,

I hope your a girl because I just fell in love. You might of just shared the missng ingredient we have all been after. BTW since we are into sharing. It seems to be that the missing secret ingredient in 555 is black sesame seed oil. Of course this would need to be diluted in PGA.

Yes, I'm definitely a girl What missing ingredient - hay? When I first tried DuMaurier, my first thought was of a hay ride in late October. Now the question is; where to get hay flavor?

Sesame seed for 555 - duh - why didn't I realize that? I kept thinking peanut butter, but not exactly, and I didn't make the leap to sesame seeds. I even have some tahini my fridge

I love this forum and the people here. See what happens when we put our heads together?

I have considered that, DIY would still be cheaper. I'd been thinking of placing an order from that site in a larger quanity but I was holding off till I figured out all that I would want by using smaller quanities first.

No shade being a mild 555 or RY4. Most folks say that RY4 has a tobaccoee flavour to it. Most tobacco flavour over power the delicate bouquet of RY4.

Plus we need to remember that mixes of flavours will alter the flavours when combined.

... and yes when we put our heads together, we can come up with some great ideas and suggestions.

Funny thing-- when I smoked a pipe, I was always trying to find a tobacco that tasted the same in the bowl as it smelled in the pouch. With one lone exception (which became my everyday backy) I was always disappointed.

With vaping we have the opportunity to enjoy the complex tastes of fresh, aromatic tobacco and other flavors without the nasty tars and combustion byproducts of a burning cigarette, while still getting our nicotine.

We learned to associate the look, feel, smell and taste of a cigarette with soothing our craving to smoke. Initially we want to preserve as much of that experience as possible, but a PV will not and cannot be just the same.

But if we are open to changing our expectations and habits, with a little experience it can be better, much better than smoking.

I completely agree. I would also like to add that after being off cigarrettes completely I doubt that I would even like the taste any more of real tobacco. If I did find a true cigarrette taste at this point and time I would probably find it pretty disgusting.

Thanks for this thread! I was mixing FA tobacco flavours at the strictly recommended 1% or 2% and reluctant to go over this amount because of all the talk about FA being ultra strong. I was disappointed with the flavour at this low percentage and thought I was destined just to buy premixed and leave it at that. Then I decided to go all in and go on a flavour overdose :) mixing at 8%-10% really does it for me with the tobacco flavs from FA.
The FA mixes now taste amazing.
Thing is I'm now hooked on FA tobacco flavours and when I try premixed they taste so bland or bland/sickly sweet. I don't actually know if this is a good thing or not as FA flavour tobacco seems to have ruined my taste buds for the normal premixed tobacco flavours; (or perhaps opened my tastebuds up to just how bland premixes are?) Oh well at least my juice will be dirt cheap in the future. Thanks again.
