I dont have any Ice Cream in my collection but I sure know the heck outta some Blackberry. To me Blackberry is a very strong and overpowering flavor. If I ever mix it with other flavors I usually bring it in at about 50% of the other flavor. If I were to take a swing at those 2 flavors together I might start off somewhere around 3-4% Blackberry and 7-8% Ice Cream. I might also add a few drops (3-4 max) of coolada to give it a cold sensation making it feel more like ice cream.

This is just a starting point, as I said I dont have any Ice Cream concentrates so I have no idea how it mixes in. Would like to hear how the recipe turns out as mixed.

I haven't tried a BB+VBIC mix but have used both (though only TFA's BB). I checked the recipes I have and even with TFA's Blackberry (which I would guess to be a bit weaker than CAP's) I have never used it at more than 5% (only a 2 recipe sample though). For VBIC-TFA I have a bigger sampling (of 14 recipes); 5-6% seems to be my go-to for "ice creams" though two of Bill's High flavor milkshake bases use it at 8 and 10%.

So with that in mind, if I were going to try my hand at a blackberry ice cream, I would probably start at 3% Blackberry-CAP, and 5-6% of VBIC-TFA and see where that started. Also I find VBIC needs at least a week to start to shine. I also liked Darth Omerta's suggestion of a touch of Koolada for that "cold" feel.

Today I mixed up CAP blackberry 8% and TFA VBIC 8%. The mix doesn't seem right.
What percentages would you use for a flavored vanilla ice cream?
@IDJoel's on the right track. I would cut your mix right in half, and probably add 1% FA Fresh Cream and 1% TFA French Vanilla (or French Vanilla Deluxe, or French Vanilla Cream...just some kind of vanilla shot). The TFA VBIC is going to come on strong after 2-3 days steeping. I'd steep the mix for at least a week.

P.S. I use TFA Blackberry, which is one of their strongest flavors. If you had that one instead, you'd probably need to bring it down to <2%.

I kind of developed this one as a running commentary here so I keep it public. You can play around with the fruits but you have to keep your thumb on that raspberry or it will take over the recipe.

Berry Berry Good

VBIC (TFA) 6%
Forest Fruit (FA) 4%
Marshmallow (TFA) 2%
Raspberry (TFA) 1%
Strawberry (FW) .5%

I find CAP Blackberry slightly weaker than their other fruits. Also, I like CAP VBIC better than TFA, as to me, it has a peppery undertone that I don't care for.

FWIW, I make a Black Raspberry Custard, (age 4 weeks), & find the fruit/custard balance spot on. Of course, I like practically anything mixed with custard...
6% Blackberry (CAP)
2% Raspberry (CAP)
7% Vanilla Custard (CAP)
1% Sweetener (TFA)

If I were gonna try a Blackberry ice cream flavor, based on my flavor stash & flavoring preferences, I would start with:
5.5% Blackberry (CAP)
.5% Raspberry (CAP)
5.5% VBIC (CAP)
1.5% French Vanilla (CAP)
1.5% Marshmallow (CAP)
.5% Koolada

And give it a whirl after about a week... :D

The absolute easiest way to do this would be to add 30ml of 8% VBIC at an equal PG/VG and nicotine ratio. This will put the Blackberry at 50% ratio to the VBIC, (which seems to be about the average recommendation), then you can dilute as desired within that ratio.

I would do this with 10mls of your current mix and 10 mls of your 8% VBIC that way if its a wash then you're only losing 40ml total and you can start fresh with a better recipe.

Fixing a liquid in exact (replicatable) percentages and measurements without knowing the target could be challenging.

That's exactly what I'll do, thanks![emoji4]

Glad I could help! But in all honesty, you saved it, I just had an idea

Your idea helped save a strawberry cream saver too! It's nice to not have to always learn things the hard way. Plus I treat my nic and juice like liquid gold, so I'm glad 60 ml has been saved from the drain!
